Couleur dorée trouble avec un col mousseux blanc. Nez de fruits et d’épices. En bouche mélange complexe d’épices et de fruits. Bière bien construite pas tout a fait mon genre par contre!

2010 Vintage
Tasted in late 2011 from a capped 750mL bottle obtained in a trade. Pours clear light orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thick lace. The nose is sweet and fruity with some spicy hops and yeast and lightly bitter hops aroma. The flavor is the same spicy hops and yeast with some dried peach and apricot pitted fruit, and finishing with some nice spicy bitterness. The body is full and very sticky with light carbonation and a long lightly sweet dried fruit and pleasantly bitter finish.

2007 capped 750 from Bu11zeye. Pours hazy orange gold with a creamy off-white head. In a Westvleteren chalice. Aroma is malty, floral/zestspicey. Med + body. Flavor is light toffee, bitter zest, earth, floral. Finishes that way - well blended. Not a trace of heat. Enchantingly delicious.

2007 bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours cloudy golden with an attractive off-white head and a citrus and toffee aroma. There is an earthy toffee flavor that has blended in with the hops over the years. Hopheads would likely be disappointed with this development with the "in your face" bitterness gone, but I love the aged flavor. Cannot detect the alcohol.

I had pretty high expectations going into this one and was anticipating a bit more of a hoppy presence and a little more body. It was certainly enjoyable, light bodied, mild hop, smooth aftertaste. Well balanced and pleasant but nothing spectacular. If it weren’t for the abv I would assume on flavour alone it wouldn’t hold up to many lower abv peers.

Peach. Aroma is mild fruit, yeast. Taste is perfect strong pale Belgian, almost saison like. Palate is sweet, not sticky. Overall, a perfect Belgian Strong Pale here.

750ml bottle @ PBF 2013 from a trade with pushkinwow. Thanks!

Pours clear orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of raw doughy notes, yeast, aged hops, grass, grainy malts and spices. Taste is sweet, alcoholy, hoppy, grainy and grassy with notes of yeast and spices. Finish is farmyardy, spicy and grainy with notes of toffee. A bit unbalanced and feels like it’s a bit past its prime already. Still quite good in a strange way, though.

750 ml bottle. 2010 vintage.
Pours a cloudy orange copper colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of sweet peach, grains and wort. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, sweet peach, grainy notes, herbs, weak bitterness, Belgian toffee and hay. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes sweet, grainy and herbal. Past it’s prime I think, if the intention was to make this hoppy as hell.
