Any first impressions?
-A clinging veil of head stands atop the clear, reddish copper.
-Berries and caramel send up a clear message through the nostrils: this is all about the malts.
-As expected, a rotund maltiness ramifies into toastiness and oily sweetness, baccate fruitiness being a talkative observant.
-The clean mouthfeel opens a window onto the rich maltiness and superb structure.

What if you dig deeper?
-Deep bread undertones are provided by the malt.
-Whispering citrus fruit deepen the complexity of the aroma.
-Supporting hops barely show up.
-This is a very big beer to be an Oktoberfest, but who cares, this is very good and comforting.

On tap at Vices et Versa, Montreal.

I had this beer at Vices et Versa. The color is reddish with an beige head. You can taste some sweet caramel with also fruitiness. The presence of hops is quite noticeable. All in all a good beer.

Pours an orange anmber color with a medium bubbly offwhite head. Good aroma and flavor of biscuity malt, fruits and sweetness with a bitter finish. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Very interesting.

(automne 2006)

Clear dark orange hue wearing a tight off-white head and hiding a garden of fruitiness in its outspoken malt showdown. Light and cohesive balancing hops procure the balance it needs, but what remains after finishing your pint is pretty much a sense of guilt, this is rather thick and sensuous for an Oktoberfest. Notes of oranges, woodsy vegetal hops and mild earthiness shine through the otherwise rather linear and basic ingredients flavours. An original and inspired take, but a bit too sweet to have me repeat the experience time and time again.

Reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. A pleasant fruity aroma with light caramel, light bananas and fusel alcohol. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with nuts, and light aniseed. A bit thin. Oily mouthfeel. On tap at Vices Versa, Dec. 16 2006. with ProbstK.

On tap at Vices & Versa, dark copper-amber color, with a beige head, but falling quickly, toasted, caramelized malts nose, with a subtle flowery hops, faint fruity aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp peachy caramelized malt character, with a hint of peppery accent, toffeeish note, toasty, faint orange peels fruitiness, from the flowey hops, leading towards a sweet and shy hops bittering finish.
