4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bedainedebiere (493) - Terrebonne, - MAY 30, 2011
Tap. Dark brown brew, with a tyhick foamy beige head. Sweet and spicy rather discreet aroma, not as appealing as the flavors. Very rich and complex taste with a velvety texture. Notes of so many things, brown sugar, maple syrup, coffee, dark chocolate, dried black fruits, pear, some spices, tannins and obvious herbal hoppiness. Wow! And all of these flavors come out harmoniously dry and in great balance. Quite amazing strong porter, maybe the best I ever had. Way to go, Charlevoix!

En fut LIVE au BDT. 8.5%. Couleur brune noire, mousse beige crémeuse. Arôme de chocolat, malt. En bouche, malt, un peu de houblon, café. Finale chocolat sucrée et malt. Très bonne. Excellente même.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Eructoblaster (2122) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 13, 2011
On tap at BDT (Gatineau, Qc). Pour an opaque black body with an average brown creamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Taste is a bit more complex than the aroma. It carries coffeeish, chocolate and some subtle herbal notes. It ends with a long, warming bitter/roasty finish. Very well done.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Lanchester (143) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 6, 2011
On tap at Brouhaha. Poured fairly black with some ruby highlighting, dense tan head that gave way to some very think lacing around the glass. Enticing blend of coffee, roasted malts, and chocolate in the nose. A slight bitterness and alcohol came through in the flavor and was swiftly balanced out by a rich dark malt profile, almost finishing with a lingering molasses character on the tongue. Silky smooth on the palate on account of the very soft yet ample carbonation. Nicely done.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 2, 2011
A reddish dark brown porter with a thin creamy brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate caramel, light licorice, very nice. In mouth, a nice licorice chocolate, soy sauce, herbaceous, abit hashen, very rich and complex. On tap at Festibiere de Gatineau, May 29 2011.
