Glouglouburp (4781) - Montreal, - FEB 8, 2012
In short: A semi-rustic golden ale, well hopped, refreshing and dry. Superior session beer
How: Tap at Vices & Versa, Montreal
The look: Partly cloudy golden-blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is medium rustic (old attic & barnyard) with fresh floral notes. Taste packs a good amount of crisp cereals with a relatively low sweetness sensation, various refreshing fruity flavors, nice floral and grassy hops, mild-medium bitterness level, finish is rather dry. This was a straightforward beer that has all the elements I’m looking for in a session beer (rustic, hops, refreshing, dry). Not exactly super-complex but this is a session Saison just like I love them. So apparently this beer is the result of a “neglect” in the brewing process, and I always thought a brewer admitting that he created a good beer by mistake was as unlikely as Billy Joel finally admitting that we did start the fire.

czar (1207) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 26, 2011
on tap at bateau de nuit, quebec. bright golden, slight haze with a decent white head. fruity caramel malts, light medicine, grainy, spices. lively, light to medium body, light but fairly present grassy-citrusy hops. nice brewing "error" - as 42 stands for celsius degrees at which temperature fermentation occurred all along... instead of way lower temperatures for saison yeast.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 12, 2011
A golden saison with a thin white head. In aroma, rather intense fruity butterscotch with light mashed grains. In mouth, loads of honey, orange pulp, herbal catty notes, sweet citrusy caramel, a bit strange and wild. On tap at Vices et Versa, Nov. 4 2011.
