3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 reebtogi (2169) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 1, 2011
500ml bottle pours a golden orangeish color with about 2 fingers of white head with some nice retention and thin lacing. Aroma is citrusy with a trace of earthiness. Taste is hoppy bitterness which is grapefruit like and balanced with some malty sweetness. The alcohol is well hidden in this medium bodied and carbonated DIPA. Very well done.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 AlainG (242) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 12, 2011

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 godofsky (262) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 5, 2011
500ml bottle. tulip glass. pours golden orange with an off white head. aroma is sweet and fruity. papaya and grapefruit are what comes to mind. taste is loaded with caramel and butterscotch up front, ends with a bitter bite of hops. a tad sweet for my liking. nice full body with good carbonation. this is my 2nd vache folle IIPA, and i cannot say that i am impressed. their Dominus Vobiscum series is in a completely separate league from these second class brews.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 C2H5OH (61) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2011
Pours a fully transparent amber with a huge, creamy, off-white head that leaves a beautiful lace pattern. Nose is very citrusy and floral: grapefruit, lemon, orange, fresh flowers, grass, apples, cherries, caramel malt, pine, tree sap, cherry ice cream. Mouth-feel is creamy and thick with medium-low carbonation. Taste-wise a very sweet brew: fruit and citrus come in first, mostly cherries, grapefruit, and orange liqueur wrapped in a floral bouquet. Bitter, grassy, citral hops and chocolate-caramel malt slowly take precedence as the sweetness fades leaving burnt toast, charred oak, pine, toffee, strawberry, grapefruit, raisins and cherries on the palate; almost sherry-like with a bit of a burnt character. A little boozy in the middle but it’s not distracting. The finish is long and dry. A very enjoyable brew with a nice contrast of flavours and aromas: from syrupy sweet to burnt and bitter.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 belandzio (20) - Saint-Donat, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 2, 2011
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sask89 (278) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - JUN 30, 2011
Pours a deep amber colour with a frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of centennial hops and pine with a slight caramel maltiness as well. Taste is not too sweet at all but the bitterness is not overpowering, which is pleasant. Medium bodied, average carbonation and a soft, maybe slightly thick mouth feel. Overall a very good beer and enjoyable double IPA.
