3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mds (2119) - Toronto, - SEP 28, 2007
Draught. Bright copper with a creamy white head. The aroma is mild and not really very IIPA-like. Some sweet fruits like pear and peaches are evident in almost like a BSA-type concoction. The flavour is less confusing and is more in line with the advertised style. Quite doughy and sweet with some rich and chewy hop and fruit flavours.

Bottle. Moderate aromas of roasted and caramel for the malt, pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with hints of pepper and light dried fruits. Head is large, fizzy turning dense and rocky, off-white with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear medium amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then is lightly sweet and has a long moderately bitter finish. Palate is medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish. A slightly imbalanced DIPA, a little overly sweet, but a very nice beer nonetheless.

500ml bottle. Pours dark copper, crystal clear with a big off-white head that sticks to the glass like crazy. Nose full of citrus and pine with a nice caramel base and a weird litter box edge. Leans a a little sweet on the palate with some good citrus and spruce presence but it’s not as punchy as I’d like. Finishes with a little bitterness that lasts a reasonable time.

Bottle [500ml] shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Nov. 2011. Pours a cloudy orange-copper with a small diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, cattiness and hemp along with caramel malt, some alcohol and citrus. Flavour of sweet caramel malt, citrus hops, tropical fruit and light spices (mainly pepper). Decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good but I thought it would be better.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 C2H5OH (61) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 5, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2012 500 mL bottle; bottled on 11/24/2011. Pours amber orange with a huge, white head. Nose is very sweet and syrupy: orange skittles, orange marmalade, lemon, grapefruit, apricot, maraschino cherries, spice, and brown sugar. Really quite delicious. Taste-wise we have caramel malts, orange, peach, apricot, lemon peel, and grapefruit. Mouth feel is medium with good carbonation. The finish is short and bitter leaving grapefruit and orange. A very tasty brew. Good balance between the bitter hops and sweet malt. However, after the initial blast of flavour it doesn’t really develop and the finish is rather short.
