3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - MAR 29, 2011
Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver; parallel with Columbus Double IPA; bottle on April 2010, almost 1 year old (sic) Beautiful amber color; medium sized compact head; a shade lighter than the Columbus. The aroma is more woody, oaky than hoppy; a bit creamy. Sweetish caramel and toffee flavor, with a light puckery note. Correct bitterness; the hop gives also a light fruit touch, and only light resins. A very average Double IPA, pale compared to the Columbus, maybe also because it was in the shop for too long.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (9188) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 21, 2011
Bottle, courtesy of Enjoyit. It pours a clear, amber body and a dense off-white head. Too sugary on the nose, with pineapple, citrus peel and some resins. The flavor too is a bit on the sweet side. A nice bitterness and hoppy flavors balances it, pineapple, lemon peel and a resiny touch. Full-bodied and effervescent. Bitter finish with sugary malts. A quite nice one, but even a double ipa shouldn’t have this much sugar. 110129
