Pours from the bottle with a 1-inch creamy tan head, deep brown color with some ruby highlights as light passes through. Aroma hits your nose as soon as the bottle is opened. A roasted, chocolate character with some modest lactose sweetness later and some finishing toasted notes. Flavor has an early coffee with cream type flavor, deep roasted malt notes and some chocolate creep up in the middle with a sweetness and light Merlot wine note at the very end. Beer looks thin but feels hefty. Low carbonation with a slight dryness to the finish. Overall the beer is pretty good. The nose is amazing but the flavor is just okay. Was expecting a little more deeper flavor I guess from the nose.

500ml bottle pours almost black in color with a 2 finger thick beige head that retains well eventually leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malts dominate with some coffee and other grains. Taste is roasted malty bitterness with some chocolatey sweetness and a mild hop bitterness with some coffee notes. Impressive carbonation and body, nicely balanced. Outstanding.

Bottle from La Vache Folle mix pack, from Broue Ha Ha. Bottle got a little shaken, so had some problems with oversized head. An extremely well balanced imperial stout; all the usual tastes: sweet, bitter, roasty, coffee, chocolate, smooth, all completely evenly balanced. Good stuff.

500 ml bottle. Pours a deep dark black, with a very thick, resilient creamy beige head. Smells of roasted grains. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and cereals. Nice roasted, coffeeish finale. Medium bodied, slightly creamy, alcohol is hard to perceive. Somewhat strong carbonation. Excellent stout.

Bottle thanks to Crusianbeer. Pours a black with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark roast and faint vegitable. Flavor is much the same with a nice sweetness. Heavy mouthfeel with low carbonation. Solid brew!

[bottle] Aroma is of molasses; creamy and slightly roasty with vanilla. Opaque dark reddish brown under a ton of tan fuzz. Sweet mocha and vanilla flavour with toasted almonds and hazelnuts. High carbonation, medium body, black malt bitter finish.
