Dusty milk choco aroma. Black with foamy espresso head that thins to creamy head. Smooth sweet airy milk shake with a kick. Nice milky choco aftertaste. The most airy light 9% stout I’ve had.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2010 500ml bottle from jsprime of BA. pours black with a lingering tan head. aroma of green apple, burnt marshmellow, caramel. the flavour: red apple, caramel, sugar. overly sweet and hard to finish the 500ml bottle. the body is super thin and this beer is mostly flavourless. i was really excited to try this stout after enjoying other offerings from this brewery but this one was drain lubricant.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2012 En bouteille.

Bottle. First milk stout I have tried. Pours very dark with a large mocha colored head. Coffee dominates the aromas early. Roasted chocolate and some nuttiness as well. Very sweet flavors. Some chocolate and some alcohol in there too. Pretty creamy. Mid bodied. Well balanced.

So it has officially been way too long since I rated a beer, but here I sit at Le Saint Pub without any paper and my phone as my only tool...so what the hell. A little sweet perhaps but very tasty. The nose wasn’t overpowering but the caramel and subtle chocolate were very enticing. The creamy texture due to the milk is evident on both the nose and the taste. Not finding any coffee here but the buttery feel is enough to make you forget coffee should maybe have been part of the conversation. Finishes nicely with a creamy mouth-coating chocolate/almost sweet licoriceflavour and aftertaste....quite nice.

Sticking true to its guns, this one smells like milk....mixed with dark chocolate, rubber and sea foam. Unbalanced and not noseworthy. Poured ridiculously dark with fizzy dark tall head. Wow....tonnes of dark cocoa immediately smash into the tastes buds like waves. It is the most overpowering experience I’ve had in beer drinking! Funny though, not once does it seem to be too bitter or too much. Rich caramel asserts itself by mid-palate and dances around with roasted malts. A hops aftershow with icing sugar closes the show, now what will we have for a finish? Let’s see.....more thunderous chocolate and a sticky mouth (thanks Mr.Milk). 9% they say? I didn’t taste the alcohol once!

"Half liter "subbie" bottle: Poured a black viscous ale in the glass...modest carbonation...small mocha head....smells delicious..sweet, chocolaty, roasty, some coffee...light grass tones. Mouth feel is viscous. oily....good malt backbone and all the cocoa/coffee toasty stout tastes but toned back with a soft rounded taste profile from the lactose. Not a cloyingly sweet drink but sweetish, toasty chocolatey and mild....nice effort. "

[2655-20091211] 500mL bottle. Chocolate milk roasted wood grain aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Thick roasted malt grain flavour has a lont sweet roast finish. Full body is a little bitter. Really tasty, solid bitter hints and roast throughout.

Poured an opaque brown color with a creamy brown head. Hops, smoke and roasted malt aroma. Some chocolate. Roasted malt flavor. Touch of ash. Pine hop finish. Touch of warmth. Bubbly mouth-feel.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2010 Pours a beautiful black colour with a big frothy mocca head. Aroma is a little sweet and filled with roasted malts, chocolate and some coffee. The taste is somewhat sweet, malty with a nice light bitterness present throughout. Full-bodied, soft carbonation, fairly thick on the palate. Overall this is one of my favourite beers, just excellent.
