500ml bottle from trade (thanks cfrancis). Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma seems subdued but slightly roasted in the malt. Taste is milk chocolate and hop bitterness. Dark, sweet, slightly sour. Decent bitter finish. Good.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2011 I don’t quite understand the point in making this beer. In my mind a lacto stout can’t be a high alcohol brew because it needs to be refreshing. Roasty caramel greets the nose as well as the palate and says hi, I have no further depth to share with you. This is a fine milk stout but the alcohol brings out too much astringency and malty alcohol to enjoy. A milk stout should be like being a child drinking chocolate milk but wanting to get the biz after finishing a bottle. Give me more malt and pound me like a square trying to get through a round hole.

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Black color; generous beige head, compact. The aroma of dark chocolate and roasted malt is light, with a very light touch of coffee and dry cold smoke. The body is medium structured, the drinkability is therefore eased; without being too strong, the roasted malt flavor is very good, almost coffeish, with some residual sweetness, with a late impression of liquorice; finally, in the end, the alcohol warms the mouth. Elegant Imperial Stout.

Ce soir, les gars viennent se taper un poker à la maison. Histoire de les mettre à l’aise et ainsi espérer leur faire les poches; je leur sert cet exceptionnel cidre de vache qui, je l’espère, saura altérer leur poker face. Bonne chan!

Bottle 500mL-Nice appearance with a huge moka head. Aroma and taste of chocolate with a little touch of smoke. The texture is thin for an Imperial Stout. A great way to finish the week!

500 ml bottle. Dark brown color with a big fluffy brown head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and roasted malts. Lactose is definatly noticeable in the taste, yet this is odd but not turning me off. Medium body and light fizzyness. Not like the Peche Mortel from DDC, but a good enough Imperial Stout!

wow frothyness! dark black in colour. aromas of roast, caramel, almonds, cake and a hint of spice. Tastes are cream textured, roasted malts, with a sweet caramel taste. the finish is almost acidic or something. medium to full bodied but a beautiful brew none the less!

Bottle from Peluso MTL. Pours black with thin tan head. Very thin mouth feel definitely lacking body. Milk chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a strange taste I believe to be the lactose that adds a displeasing off taste. Over all a mediocre beer.

500ml bottle sample. Upon first opening this bottle I smelt strawberry for some reason. Pours a very dark brown, small quick diminishing head. Quick moving cascading lace. Aroma is of carmel, coffee and a slight aftertaste of ash (very slight). Decent brew, my first milk stout.
