Deep dark black pour with a foamy and frothy mocha cap. Leaves nice spotty lace. Nose is quite lactic, milk chocolate, some roasty components, coffee beans, and fresh hops. Tastes of coffee, milk chocolate, lactic, roasty malts with some young hops. Creamy with good drinkability.

Draft poured at sugar bowl in Edmonton. Pours dark brown with beige head and nice lacing. Not a lot of aroma. Taste is quite sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Not my favorite stout but a good way to start a Black Friday!

Bottle 50cl, a dark beer with medium head. Nose is on dark caramel, licorice, alcohol. Aroma is on a creamy dark chocolate, roasted caramel, bit vinous and soy sauce body, dark coffee, licorice, lactose, leather notes, biscuits, good stout.

Deep near black brown. Aroma is milk chocolate, some coffee as well. Flavour is very sweet milk sugar, a bit of alcohol heat and medium bitterness. Pretty decent.

Tap @ La Vache Folle. Nice touch getting a barrel on tap, well done. Very dark brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate powder, coffee milk, bit of alcohol. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee milk, slightly sweet chocolate, a bit boozy. A bit thin bodied to really stand out, but nice one nonetheless.

Got a bottle as a gift in a party pack. Love this beer. Dark, chocolate malty taste. 9% alcohol. Will be looking to find where I can buy this. LOVED IT!

Dark brown with a medium head. It has a very fruity aroma like it was a Belgian strong dark ale. A hybrid between a stout and a Dark Belgian. Why not. The taste is medium sweet and on the chocolate side. Dairy is well present. It’s a good one. Slightly different then a usual RIS or Milk Stout. Like I said ...why not.

On tap at Le Temps d’une Pinte, why did I order that?! Pours a dark brown with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of straight chocolate. Taste is fruity, almost like red fruits, roasted malt and lactose. Not too sweet and far from cloying, really. Body is medium-medium-full and carbonation moderate. OK, not as good as I remembered it being.

Bottle from the brewpub enjoyed two nights later in a beer wasteland. Rich creamy smooth chocolate and roasty caramel with just a hint of sweetness. Nice beer!

On tap at Barley Brothers. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a tan head head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of dark bread and grains with some roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. Flavor has notes of sweet dark grain and sweet chocolate with a hint of roasted malts.

Pitch black with a tiny brown ring of foam. A little roasted, some hot chocolate and milk, alcohol. Balanced. Medium to full body, slick with a soft carbonation.
