3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (17558) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 8, 2009
Bottled at PBF. Black, pale brown head. Chocolatey soy sauce aroma. Sweet and full bodied with compact but rounded malt. Peach and salt, chocolate and brandy. Drier finish with salty bitterness. A great dessert beer. Poerful, but not overpowering.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (12360) - Malmö, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2011
Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver Black color; generous beige head, compact. The aroma of dark chocolate and roasted malt is light, with a very light touch of coffee and dry cold smoke. The body is medium structured, the drinkability is therefore eased; without being too strong, the roasted malt flavor is very good, almost coffeish, with some residual sweetness, with a late impression of liquorice; finally, in the end, the alcohol warms the mouth. Elegant Imperial Stout.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TBone (9997) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2009
Bottled (PBF).
Opaque black color, small beige head. Nose has kind of medicinaly toastyness, light apples and light coffee. Tastes a bit like baltic porter, not much milk stout. Toasted malts, some coffee, light sweet lactose notes. Feels less than 9 %. Ok, but not as good as average 3.72 here indicates.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (9992) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 3, 2010
Bottle. [thanks, cfrancis]
Pous completely black with a staying, rather large, light-beige head. Mild aroma with dark chocolate, a hint of smoke, some coffee and lactose. Low to medium carbonation, fine light dry and light creamy palate. Flavour is kinda mild but very elegant. No sign of the 9%. Milky darkish chocolate, quite sweet. The lactose adds a smoky hint. Fairly sweet overall, but not in a bad way. Good.

A deep dark stout with a viscous texture, and thick lacing moka head. In aroma, an herbal chocolate aroma with light alcohol warmth, and coffee notes. In mouth, sweet smooth chocolate malt balls, caramel and herbaceous hops, along with alcohol warmth. A classy stout from the crew in Charlevoix. Sampled in Feb. 2007.

Mondial de la Bière 2011, Strasbourg - very dark brown almost black beer; moderate foam left; very roasted chocolatey nose with lactic notes; hints of ashes; medium- to full-bodied; pretty sweet with a fair hoppiness; long chocolatey and roasted aftertaste
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (8242) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 17, 2008
Bottle... Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)... This beer rocks!... Pours pitch black with a mid-sized, creamy, light brown head. Terrific retention. Chocolaty, coffee nose with clever vinous and dark fruit notes. Full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Much better balance than expected. Slightly oxidized, but lots of roastiness and dark fruit. Perfect degree of lactose sweetness. Medium bitter, coffee and chocolate finish with only a restrained touch of cardboard-like oxidation. Big-time thanks go out to glouglouburp for providing this underappreciated gem!
