Superbe bière très équilibrée qui a des touches presques sucrées. Une découverte de Charlevoix qui produit toujours d’excellentes bières. Un symbole de qualité.

Bottle 50cl, a cloudy copper beer with medium head. Nose is on hops resin and exotic fruits. Aroma is on hop resin, pine, low body and malty notes, sugar, dry, floral, medium bitterness, blond caramel, carared malt, ok.

Canadian rye IPA from a 50 cl bottle. Thickly lacing, egg-white, dense, regular, completely closed and well retaining head over a lightly hazy coppery amber coloured beer. Complex and very fragrant aroma of candied orange (marmelade), biscuit, mandarin, peach, dried banana, rye bread, strawberry, chestnuts, dry hay, spring flowers, lime zest, caramel, toasted onion, sweetbread, ginger powder, dried red berries, bitter honey, chicken spices. Cleanly ’dried fruity’ onset, hints of figs, dried mango and hazelnuts, sweetish and sourish but both are well in balance with each other, medium to strongish carbo, bit minerally. Smooth malty middle phase, caramelly, very nutty with a gentle rye sourishness and spiciness as well as softly bittering toasted edge supporting the finishing hop character, spicy, deeply leafy and herbal, but aromatic as well, with elegant retronasal citrus peel, pine resin and dried flower qualities, drying the end phase and well in balance with the nutty malts. Very enjoyable beer, delicious in the nose and well-balanced in the mouth, tilted towards the malty side but still with a lot of delicate North American hop fragrance. Recommended for those who are into the maltier side of IPA.

500ml bottle from Marche Omni in Gatineau, Quebec. Orange-copper in colour with a large and long lasting off-white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of cereal and pale malts, caramel, citrus hops, light rye. The flavour is of citrus hops, some caramel sweetness, some rye, earthy. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, bitter, citrusy, sweet. Nice beer, still more of an IPA because not a whole lot of rye comes through in this. Still quite refreshing though.

Poured a huge frothy head, with a medium amber appearance. A hoppy aroma, piney/grainy as well. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Good lacing. Clear citrus flavours, maple, hops are quite distinct. A bit of spices come through, peppery. I find the hops well balanced, not overly strong but just fine. Very tasty and smooth. Very good! (label notes: craft beer brewed from natural ingredients without additives)

RyePA - Bières de seigle assez épicée. L’amertume est très présente. Découverte en camping à Charlevoix comme ses soeurs Vache folle !

Hazy and orange color with a slightly off-white head with medium duration. Aroma has notes of caramel, malty and notes of bittery oranges. Flavor is strong bitterness with caramelish and malty notes, notes of orange peel. Bittery final with a medium dry mouthfeel.

Excellente RPA quand elle est fraîche. J’ai gouté une fraîche versus une pas fraîche et c’est vraiment pas la même. Une bière très douce, mais bien goûteuse. J’ai bien aimé la RyePA de charlevoix, beaucoup de positif.

Moderately malty aroma of rye bread, roasted grain, a touch of caramel. Trace of hoppy citrus, orange. Beautiful appearance. Frothy, off-white, mostly lasting, large head with a clear sparkling body, medium amber in color. The taste is solid start to finish with a nice balance of sweetness to bitterness. Almost reminds me of peach juice out of a can. Light to medium texture that seems both dry yet creamy. Lively carbonation and a long bitter sweet finish. Very nice. Cheers!
