Sampled at the GCBF. Amber with spiderwebs. Aroma is rye and mild coniferous. Taste is rye (which plays its part in a beautiful viscosity), slight grapefruit sweetness and bitterness. Well balanced. Finish is a balance of pine and grapefruit. First good-quality IPA (which is what this is) I’ve had from Quebec.

Pours clear pale amber with three plus fingers of loose light beige head, great retention, heavy lacing (4/5). Nose is sharp rye, caramel malt, citrus and floral hops (8/10). Taste is moderate sweet, moderate sour, and moderate to strong bitter (8/10). Medium body, moderate sustained carbonation, with a slightly sticky, dry bitter spicy finish (4/5). That’s quite good. The rye works very well with the citrus and floral hops to provide a solid bittering counterbalance to a malty sweetness that might otherwise be overwhelming or sickly. Gotta say, I do tend to like rye beers in general and rye IPA’s as a sub genre. (17/20)

Nice looking deep burnt orange with a tall foamy head. Lots of citrus and floral hop in aroma, bit of malt and rye. Taste is a nice balance of hoppy bitter but also a good sweetness from the malt. Not as much bite from the rye as I would expect. Not as nice a finish as I expected - good bitter but not really big nor long duration.

Dark cloudy amber with a creamy cap. Nose is caramel, rye, spice, citrus and flowers. Taste is a nice sweet malt, lots of rye spiciness, orange with a floral hop finish. Slightly dry, just enough to be too easy to drink, but definitely more on the malty side. Overall really nice.

draft at le projet, quebec city, darker amber pour, medium bodied, hefty malty backbone. solid bitterness that gets somewhat lost in backbone.
