Sampled at the GCBF. Amber with spiderwebs. Aroma is rye and mild coniferous. Taste is rye (which plays its part in a beautiful viscosity), slight grapefruit sweetness and bitterness. Well balanced. Finish is a balance of pine and grapefruit. First good-quality IPA (which is what this is) I’ve had from Quebec.

Countbeer (4068) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2014
Bottle: Served in a taster: Medium sized creamy foamy head on top of a hazy warm orange colored beer. Aromas of butter, hop, some red fruit, nettle, manure, light malty and a hint of meat. Flavours of hops, malts, some nettle, light citrus, pine, bitter, herbs, light bread tone, some yeast and hop fruits... Aftertaste is a mix of hops, herbs, bitters, malts and some fruits. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a creamy texture. Tasty beer.

Deutlich getreidiger Hopfenantrunk, grasig, vollmundig. Dunkel, spritzig, hopfig bleibend. Etwas klebriger, wenig bitterer Ausklang. 11/10/11/9/8/9

500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy copper colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and piney hop aroma, notes of grapefruit and tangerine, more perfumed than earthy hints of rye in the background. Taste is citrusy and bitter hoppy, minimally tart, hints of blood orange, redcurrant, cautious dry touch of rye. Very nice.

Hazy copper, small beige head. Light pine resins, spice and cereal grains. Light to medium bitterness, light spicy finish with solid slightly sweet malts. The hops are quite muted and faint, a little resins, mostly earthy spices.

Pours hazy orange-tinged amber into a Sam glass. Off-white soapy head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Earthy spice aromas. Medium bodied with sweet toffee and spicy rye upfront turning to mild resin before the lasting earthy pepper finish.

Clear amber colour, cream head. Aroma of hops, marmalade, orange peel, caramel. Light sweet, bitter hoppy flavour, caramel, hint of rye. Bitter finish. Quite nice!

Purchased at a local IGA Extra. Pours a slight hazy deep amber colour with a creamy light-beige head, lasting a long time and giving some dirty foam lace. Hoppy nose with some caramel notes from the malt. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel with just a tad of dryness. The taste is not too crazy on the hop (but still there), with decent malt with some burnt hints in the finish. A nice malty rye beer with good presence of hop.
