Pretty dark brown with golden highlights. Chewy, toffeeish malt nose. Burnt, almost smokey character along with toffee on the palate. Off-dry finish.

on tap-pours a tan head that laces and very dark brown color. Aroma is musty dark malt. Taste is dark malt-chocolate, roasty, secondary earthy hops bite. Some __________ (funky yeast, English Malt? Or stale coffee. OK/mild carbonation.

Dark brown pour with tan head and lace. Light roasted caramel aroma that was a bit funky and stale. A bit of caramelly roast malt flavor with a finish that reminds me of bitter chocolate. Thin with a grainy finish carbonation is slightly off as well. Armoa was a bit off for me. The flavor was better than the aroma. A good beer nothing special. I will try it again so I can see if the beer aroma was off or it was me.

Draft... Very dark for a brown ale (can’t see through it even when held up to bright light) with a small, fizzy, white head. Good retention. Deeply roasted malt aroma with an undercurrent of chocolate and a lesser note of banana. The flavor tilts toward the bitter side of balance with lots of deep roasted, tannic espresso beans, chocolate and banana. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Finishes burnt, bitter and dry. One of the more interesting brown ales out there. There must have been some unusual, Belgian-type yeast used when brewing this batch. I dig it. Reminiscent of a watered-down Midnight Sun Conspiracy.

Dark brown color. Aroma was that of roasted malt with possible hint of chocolate. Surprisingly smooth. Taste of hops with hints of roasted nuts and chocolate. I’m guessing this is their version of a porter

Draft at brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown color with a moderate frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium toasted malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Draft-Run of the mill brewpub beer. The color was dark brown with ruby tones along the edging. There was a slight touch of malt and nutty aroma. The taste was similiar with the nuttiness hitting the back of the throat on the swallow. The beer was served too cold and was too watery.
