Tap-4th of July Beer arrived with a tan head and dark black color. Slight aroma of roasted malts, the brew was extra cold, so there wasn’t alot of armoas. Roasted taste dominated by chocolate flavoring with a roasted, thin finish.

The board said Charlie and Jake’s Smokehouse Stout. On draft at Charlie and Jake’s. Pours a threatening black with a tan head. Nose is roast, earth, dry coffee, and a hint of dark fruit. Flavor is lots of roast with cocoa, earth, unsweet chocolate, and did I mention roast? Medium-bodied and nice earthy, roasty stout overall.

Served up on tap at the Charlie and Jake’s brewpub pouring deep dark mahogany with infra red edges and thin light tan head. The aroma is a mix of toffee with bolder notes of dark roasted to burnt malts and a touch of chocolate malts. The taste is full up dark roasty malts heading into some burnt maltiness and a thin layer of black licorice. To midway highly roasted chocolate malts join it to add depth and interest. Tasty stuff.
