Only available draft when I had it, tried it from a day old hand bottle (by the brewmaster). Too bad that the Charma beers are not distributed outside Crete, as their actually very good for their style. thsi is a fine crafted dunkel with a reat aroma and taste of sweet malt, coffee,caramel and some roasted notes. Lovely.

Draught at Cafe/restaurant Aroma, nearest neighbour to the old mosque at the old harbour, Chania. Pours dark brown, nearly black with an one inch creamy tanned head. Aroma is powerful dark malty, light roasted. Aroma comes more to life as the beer get warmer. Taste is smooth roasted malts, toffee,coffee,liquorice, lingering sweet/roasted malty aftertaste. A surprise to find such a good beer in Crete, this must be the best brew from this island.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2009 Till this moment u could find it only on tap. I tasted this summer at the Brewery and i kept tasting it at the city of Chania. Very nice surprise. The alcohol is 6% ABV. Dark brown color with thick beige head. Nose is roasted malts, cofee and some hop. Taste is sweet with hints of caramel,coffee, malts. Bitter-sweet finish. Nice palate, well balanced. Fresh beer that makes u want to try even more. Very nice work ...
