Reasonably straight forward lager. A bit bready and a soft bitter finish, but without the magic of the sublime helles. Still a pretty decent drop though.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2010 Deep golden color with a slight tinge of amber, and a tall foamy white head. Rich malt aroma, biscuity and grainy, with a decent hop character as well. Rather fragrant indeed somewhat sweet and very rich. Rich malt flavor, biscuits, cereals. Round and smooth. Hops are in the background but always evident. Medium or better bitterness. Moderate sweetness. A nice, rich lager in the Helles style, but with a much stronger hop character—I guess a Dortmunder Export type. Very interesting and pleasant. Good hop bitterness, and a great hoppy finish. Probably their best beer I have had so far.

Sampled @ GJBF Yokohama: Gold, yellow, light white head, nice lacing. Nose of light fruit and yeast, light malt and a balanced nutty finish. Decent.

@ GJBF 2007. Golden color. Tosted malts, some fruit, and hops. Flavor is just and extension of the mediocre aroma. It’s not a bad brew, but just sorta there.

Deep golden color. Toasted barely nose. Soft fruity nose of bananas and peaches, which was a bit odd I thought. Soft mouthfeel, slightly winey with bananas and toasted malt and a nice toasted malt finish. I think it was aiming for a Dort, but it seem to have some odd, though not unpleasent, other characteristics.
