2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Lukaduke (1013) - Portland, Maine, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Pours a murky brownish rust color with a finger of khaki foam. On the nose its dirty with traces of earthy cherry and composted malts... the palate follows suit. Slightly metallic, stale earthy malt and traces of black cherry that dont really help things. Was given as a sample from my distributor because they wanted to close this out as its no longer being made... granted it may be past its prime but even when I drank it in its "prime" it left much to be desired.

bottle - Pours a murky reddish-brown with a one finger off-white head. It has a fairly mild aroma of cherries and indistinct malt. The flavor is sweet with bready malt and cherries. It has low carbonation and a medium body. It’s alright though a bit cloying to me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 n00bface (137) - Minneapolis, USA - JAN 18, 2013
Bottle from South Lyndale Liquors (Minneapolis, Minnesota, 26/11/12)
Cherries, malt, and dough on the nose. Color is a hazy brown with a bright red hue. A minimal head that recedes fairly quickly. The taste is moderately sweet, with a slight tartness. Medium bodied, thin/sticky texture, and a soft carbonation. Decent for a fruit beer, but underwhelming.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 superspak (1475) - Michigan, USA - JAN 16, 2013
22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, raisin, cherry, cherry skin, toast, toffee, dark bread, brown sugar, earth, and light herbal hops. Nice and pleasant aromas with good strength and balance of malty notes; decent complexity. Taste of cherry, raisin, cherry skin, fig, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, herbal, and lightly earthy yeast esters. Some light earthy fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, raisin, fig, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, herbal, and earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very solid balance of malty and fruity flavors; with minimal cloying flavors present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a slick and fairly syrupy mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very solid Belgian style fruit beer. Good flavor balance of dark maltiness and fruits with decent complexity; and quite smooth to drink. A fairly enjoyable offering.

28th May 2011 Cloudy red - brown beer, short lived off white head. Dry and crispy palate. Mildly tart cherry with a dry malt base. Dry finish. It’s on kay beer that paired up well with chocolate brownies!
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 rejtable (811) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 10, 2012
Not doing it for me. Pours cloudy brown no head or lacing. Ugly liquid to look at. Nose muted, some yeast and cherries. Aromas are similar, yeast, light cherries. Tastes are light sweet. Light body with low carbonation.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 AirForceHops (1851) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 1, 2012
22 oz bottle. Used a English pint. Looks like brown muddy water. Little to no retention. Nose is a light musty fruit order. Wheat yeast is noticeable. Bread malt, weak tart fruit note, however I would never call it cherries. The body is thin and texture is real watery. No cherry Kriek flavors to be found. I understand where Rouge wanted to go with this brew but.. maybe the bottle is old. The taste is bland and I could barely finish my glass.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Huhzubendah (1980) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 12, 2012
The beer is a brown, ruby-tinged color, and appears slightly hazy. The head is undersized, and leaves sparse lacing on the glass.
The aroma is earthy with sweet cherries, and a subtle yeast / bread character.
The flavor is decent. The cherries are there, but play more of a secondary role. Nice malt flavor. Everything seems pretty well balanced. The flavor is mostly sweet, but finishes with a subtle tartness.
The body is thin to medium, with fairly light carbonation.
Overall, this was drinkable, though unexciting.

May 13, 2011 - with blankboy, jerc & mabel. blankboy’s bomber. Fairly murky brownish-amber with suspended tiny black floaties and an average tan head. Aroma is fruity - I guess it’s cherry, seemed more generic than that - quite sweet with just a little bitterness - pretty simple, doesn’t do much for me. Taste is ... cherry, with a bit of mild coffee ground acidity, at least it’s not as sweet tasting as smelling, quite tart, not much alcohol. Slightly sticky, still, a little wan acidity (I wanted a lot more), slightly sweet, finishes sticky and dry - ehh.
