22oz bomber from grape & gourmet. pours surprisingly thick and rich for a "lager" with a jet black color and a thin, dark tan head. aroma is excellent with big notes of buttered, pumpernickel toast, roasted malts, milk chocolate, and mild coffee with hints of top-soil, ash, and grassy hops. flavor is great as well, very earthy, with big, smoked malts, burnt coffee beans, dark, bitter, chocolate, and dry leaves with a hint of sweet caramel. palate is medium bodied with smooth carbonation and a lingering, dry, earthy, roasted finish. overall, a damn nice homegrown brew from rogue that can give a few stouts a run for their money even if it is classified as a schwartz.

Pours black with a large, fluffy brown head. VERY dark. Aroma is dark rye bread, burned toast, coffee, dirt, leaves, and butter. Tastes of dark rye, coffee, unsweetened chocolate, dirt, leaves, and a dry grassiness. Finishes with burned toast, dirt, char, and leaves. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. I’m very much reminded of Port’s Moonlit Session lager because this also seems like a "small beer" made from used imperial stout grain. Whatever it is, I like it.

Bomber from the Kenwood Liquors in Oak Lawn, IL: This poured and intensely dark brown body with a creamy brown head. The aroma had roast barley, cocoa, coffee, and dark caramel. The flavor has more chocolate with dry roasted coffee beans, cream, and barley. Nice dry finish, but there’s a light hit of sour cream near the end that just seems off.

Really enjoyed this one. Poured very dark with a brown head. Malt, chocolate in the aroma. Very nice on the palate. Would definitely recommend this beer.

Bomber shared by Chyldking. Pours a dark black color with a foamy chocolate brown head. Nose is malted milk balls and some mill chocolate and raisins. Palate is full, fluffy, leaves a light film on the tongue. Flavor is milk chocolate, some light dark fruits, malted milk balls.

Pours a dark brown color with medium light brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt, mild chocolate, and light coffee notes. Even a bit of smoke sneaks by. Taste is rich chocolate, light roasted coffee, caramel malt, earthy hops. Very creamy and rich, this reminded me a lot of Dark Helmet from Titletown.

Pours out really black with very small bubbles and 1 finger of tan creamy suds sit on the top. Lacing clings nicely as you sip the beer, and sticks to the mustache (save for later) As the suds subside I smell dark chocolate and creamy, burnt malt and a slight smokey aroma. While there is some dark fruit, it’s the yeast that burns the nose. No alcohol detected here. Taste is coffee and bitter charred malt. No alcohol here. While this could be a tad bit sweeter and less one-sided , it still has a great flavor. Mouth feel is clean and refreshing. Rogue Rocked another one.

pours black with a very nice light brown head. aroma is dominated by roasted malt but there is a hint of lager yeast and grassy hops. mouthful is bold and has up front roasted malt and smoothness, transitions to a bitter finish and a lager yeast. i like how much is going on with this beer at a sessionable 5%....

Bottle. Reminded me of an imperial stout. Poured tar black, thick, with a beige head. Big nose of roasted malts, coffee and light chocolate. Very rich flavor. Sweet malts blend nicely with some smoky notes. Medium to big in body with moderate carbonation. Pretty smooth. Lingering Mocha aftertaste. I want to have this beer again.

Black pour with a nice creamy tan head. Aroma is full of roasted malt and coffee. Some bits if bitter chocolate too. Flavor is loaded with coffee and bitter chocolate. This is really well done.
