Poured into a lager glass. Pouredd dark with a thick tan head and lots of lacing. Aroma is of roasted barley and coffee. Flavor has more dark chocolate and coffee. Palate is medium bodied but still slightly thick and chewy. This is the best schwarzbier I’ve tasted yet.. Doesn’t finish very dry. Delicious!

Best black lager ever. Looks and tastes like coffee stout but smoother and lighter. Drink all day every day.

Pours an opaque sable, nearly black, with a very thick chocolaty-tan head that hangs around for a while. Rich, smoky aroma is like a fine roast coffee with a firm undertone of unsweetened chocolate and just a touch of molasses - very tempting! Flavor is smoky and oily, slightly sweet, rather like a high-grade mocha. Texture is very smooth, somewhat fizzy, with a subtle fine graininess to it. Definitely worthy.

650 ml. Opaque ebony with a lasting 1/4 inch of cream. Nose of cocoa, caramel, cappuccino and cream. Drippy, sticky lace everywhere. Flavors of semi sweet chocolate, espresso, nutty caramel, and hints of salty hickory smoke. Medium-heavy body is well-balanced, smooth and creamy with just a little too much frothiness. Great brew, the lagering really smooths the rough edges of the roast very nicely.

Appearance: jet black; two-finger thick, creamy head the color of chocolate milk. Aroma: chocolate, freshly roasted coffee, hint of licorice. Taste: bittersweet chocolate-covered espresso beans, bit of black licorice, and a hint of toasted black bread. Finish: smooth, clean, a little dry, with lingering roasty and chocolate notes. Notes: This beer was a WOW for me. Looked like an imperial stout, smelled like a porter, and tasted like a perfect schwarzbier. Palate was light but not watery; incredibly drinkable. The best schwarzbier I’ve ever had, and one of the top beers I’ve ever had-period.

I thought it was an extremely great beer.Im not big on stouts and only have liked a few porters but havent tried a ton of porters either but this was a refreshing kind of lighter stout tasting lager. Can tast some of the tart/sour from the lager along with a good chocolate some roast some vanilla and just a nice pleasant taste from start to finish nice smooth good mouthfeel good body nice light ending with roast and chocolate. also had a milk chocolate head. I would take this over 3/4 of the stouts ive tried before.

Bomber: Pour jet black with a thick fluffy brown head, rich chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma, starts and ends bitter, medium bodied, playful carbonation, rich chocolate ending with a touch of smoke. An excellent beer.

22oz bottle. extremely black under a large dark brown head. oily pour. robust milk chocolate aroma. low hop presence. flavor is chalky and roasty with lots of chocolate. a unique refreshing palate that takes the best of both worlds(lager/ale), almost light bodied, but yet full of dark flavor. i can sort of taste a zesty lager in the distance near the finish. one of the best schwarzbier’s i’ve tasted.

Off the charts black appearance - with a gigantic rocky head and oozing lace. Char on the nose with soft creaminess and slight caramel. Very roasty for a schwarz (not a bad thing), lots of charred malts and coffee, followed by a quick middle and spritzy finish with some wrigleys gum at the swallow. Lingering roast. You want to just have another taste - very seductive...and delicious.
