3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, - FEB 7, 2012
I just can’t stay away from these 8 or 9 dollar Rogues. Prolly cuz they always deliver tasty brew. Almost invisible beer with a giant ass bubbly white cap that fizzles down very slowly and leaves very cool artistic molecule like bubbly lacing everywhere. Decent aroma: warm tasty aroma of grains, bit of grass, flaky cereal removed from the warm milky mess of a forgotten breakfast, bread crusts with seeds baked on. The quiet fruity side only hangs around dark alleys and an outside casual sniffing, semi sweet, slight spice. Damn easy to drink and enjoy. Grainy and cereal stuff collides well with light spice and rolling hills of medium bitterness, gets rich here and there and has floral flavours.. actually the richness holds up. Running out of beer yet the flavours have not left the ’well blended’ platform - I dig it all though. Brewed as it should be. Perfect carbonation, leaves a notable mouth coating that when sucked on gets really, really bitter. Faint fruit and spice on the finish. FInishes very well. Might fine beverage, yo. Just discovered Dr. Octagon - this is awesome shit - album is stellar!

The aroma is malty, yeasty, and hoppy. The appearance is hazy gold with a large head. The taste is like the aroma with a slight metallic taste. The palate is perfect for this beer. Overall a very good beer with one flaw.

22 ounce bottle shared with my wife. Sweet pilsner malt and slight floral hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma but with a sulfur note. Overly bitter. Meh.

A Classic style German Pilsener (spelled Pilsner in this case). It tastes great. No complaints.

Bottle:   Bright straw, somewhat clear, large frothy white head, big splotches of lacing, light carbonation.   Sweet grassy nose, slightly musty.   Grassy on the tongue, a bit sweet, a touch dry, with a very slight pale grainy aspect.   I would almost say mealy, but its not that fake.   Seems fairly crisp, very easy to drink.   Body and mouthfeel are full to moderate.   Very light earthy aspect on the finish.   Remains grassy, a bit sweet, a little dry.   Nice brew!

22 oz bottle. Very pale yellow with some hazy and a pure white foamy head. Aroma is bready pils malt and some light herbal hops. Flavor is malty with a light to medium hop bittermess. Light body with active carbonation and a super clean finish. This is a really nice Pils, very clean and refreshing.
