3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy lemony gold pour with a two-finger ivory cap. Aroma was somewhat muted and uninviting with honey, candied orange, tart lemon drops, and biscuit. Flavor also just missing depth. Sugar-coated citrus, simple-syrup glazed raisin and plum, and fruit cocktail. Alcohol is a bit hot and noticeable. Meh.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a hazy orange color with some sediment. Thin white head. Aroma has lots of citrus, fruit, and alcohol. Taste is flavorful with apricot and citrus. Some good malty flavors to balance it out. Aftertaste has citrus and some veggies. Definitely a lot of alcohol in the finish. Overall not bad, but the alcohol is a bit too noticeable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours murky amber with a small beige head. Nose is sticky sweet toffee, pine, dried fruits, apricot. Taste is more BW than IPA with heavy resinous focus and plenty of dried apricot and sweet caramel. Quite earthy stuff. Solid

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (and a cool one at that). Pours golden and clear, quite still, but with a decent head. The aroma is quite restrained, with just a hint of yeast and a little dish soap. The beer drinks exceptionally easy for a 10%’er ... none of the evident malt, sugar, yeast nor esthers are anywhere near the obtuse, none big enough to scare away even some potential casual beer drinkers. Good stuff. (#5489, 14/17/2014)

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Capped wild 750 from BevMo in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of cooked caramel with some mixed hop notes. Full bodied or more. Flavor is lightish caramel with a hop burn (unless it’s alcohol, but I don’t think so), and toffee, fruit, damn near anything but citrus. This is fantastic. Better than that. Loving it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a huge beer. Pours a hazy orange color with little carbonation. A swift swirl will produce a fast lacy head. Some bitter hop notes with a big yeasty alcohol presence.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Big blue bottle pours with a gold to copper body that has some haze to it and supports an off white head. The modest aroma offers up floral hops, soap, malt sweetened lime peel, a slight tropical fruit hoppiness and then a good dose of booze on the back end of the draw. The taste begins bitter with bitter tangerine and lime citrus hops that pulse with resiny bitterness and some malt sweetness. To midway it picks up floral hops and a soapy sensation that doesn’t come across that great. Overall the hops aren’t really working for me and it is boozy and rougher than a barleywine needs to be. At this point I’ll take the yummy original over this.
