KyotoLefty (5895) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 25, 2012
Draught at Rogue Hall. Nose of coconut, pineapple, citrus hops, orange and honey. Honey golden color, oily, with lace. Sweet honey flavor, citrus, hot alcohol, grapes, cherries, spicy. In malt and yeast it is somewhat like a tripel, but hopped like a IIPA. Thick flavor, big hops and alcohol. Full body. A fun beer.

On tap. Cloudy dark yellow with a fizzy white head. Caramel, citrus hops, and alcohol aroma. Creamy full bodied palate. Sweet candied orange peel, tangerine, cereal grain, caramel, and candied lemon peel taste. Interesting.

Braudog (5489) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2014
Bottle (and a cool one at that). Pours golden and clear, quite still, but with a decent head. The aroma is quite restrained, with just a hint of yeast and a little dish soap. The beer drinks exceptionally easy for a 10%’er ... none of the evident malt, sugar, yeast nor esthers are anywhere near the obtuse, none big enough to scare away even some potential casual beer drinkers. Good stuff. (#5489, 14/17/2014)

mcberko (5362) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 21, 2013
On tap at Rogue Brewers on the Bay, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of resinous hops, caramel malt, toffee, and a slight tropical fruitiness. Flavour is definitely a solid hybrid between IIPA and barley wine, perhaps slightly more so qualifying as barley wine with a lot of hoppy bitterness - with notes of toffee, caramel, and truckloads of resinous hops. Very well-balanced and blended. Solid stuff, drinkable in small amounts.

Geokkjer (5341) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 5, 2013
On tap at Rogue SF. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, fruitiness, alcohol, some herbal notes and sweet caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel with some bitterness, malt, fruitiness and white bread. Full body, soft carbonation.

lusikka (5338) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 18, 2012
Draught @ Rogue Ales Public House, San Francisco. Rated on 17.10.2012.
Pours a beautiful hazy yellow colour with a white firm head. Aroma is full-on hoppy with floral hops and some caramel. Flavour is really intense with caramel, licorice, syrup, massively bitter floral hops, grass and alcohol. Full bodied, thick and sticky mouthfeel with a finish of loads and loads of hops and alcohol. Mouth-drying. So fresh, so good. This is not for everyone.

olio (5272) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 14, 2012
Sampler @ brewpub.
Pours clear pale golden color with no head. Aroma of fruits, alcohol, grass and toffee. Flavour of alcohol, lemony fruits, hay and toffee. Could used some maltier body, alcohol comes through too much. More like an IIPA.

PorterPounder (5196) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2012
Newport, Or - on tap at the brewery - labeled as "New Crusty". Sparkling medium gold pour, white head, nice lacing. Aroma of dates and alcohol. Crisp flavor, some canned fruit salad, some caramel, a bit of licorice and a boozy finish. Alcohol hidden well. Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

laiti (4945) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 14, 2012
Draught as "New Crusty Barleywine" @ Rogue Distillery and Public House, Portland
Aroma is quite light with some fruits and malt. Flavour has alcohol, some fruits and hops. Very dry and somerhat leathery finish with lots of gooseberry bush. Too much alcohol here.

Suttree (4903) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Hazy orange, spongy, rocky white head. Lots of floaties. Smells like toffee, caramel and fresh bread, with notes of piney, resiny hops. Slick, viscous palate. Taste is sweet, caramel and toffee, and a long, piney finish.
