3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
"big head here too, golden. full bodied for the style. manages to both taste and smell fresh and old at the same time, which simultaneously makes it standoffish and intriguing. overall, slightly hoppy and slightly sweet. enjoyable enough, but not something i’m likely to revisit."

Couleur dorée orangés avec un col mousseux respectable. Nez floral, caramel,épices, agrumes. En bouche meme mélange, ca manque de corps. Ce n’est pas uen bière exceptionnelle mais c’est respectable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a light caramel colour with beige head, not much retention. Nose is caramel, burnt sugar, plums and some spice. Tasty is fruity, with caramel, toasted malt and spice. There’s a surprising bit of pine on a finish that was drier than I expected. Nice, though definitely not what I’d call an APA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle. Pours a wildly yellow, frothy head atop a deep brown body. Nose of a mild barleywine. Some of this Dare and Risk malt tastes somewhat like Irish malt. Surprisingly malty as hops disappear into a background bitterness. Lasting sweet finish. Too malted a pale ale for my liking.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy orange-amber with tall off-white head. Aromatic resinous fruity malt. Taste - flaked barley, plum, hint of over-ripe apple, spicy resinous hops. Sticky sweet texture but balanced with ample hop bitterness. Heavy mouthfeel and full flavor. Very nice ale.

Malheureusement en mauvais état au moment de la dégustation.
Mauvaise conservation certainement.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The end verdict is that this is a big, chewy brute of a beer. Here’s how I reached that conclusion: It is lustrous red amber in colour with an ugly skim of off-white head and lace down the glass. I don’t mind this because the colour is gorgeous. The aroma sits heavily in the sector of autumnal orchard stone fruit, stewed and redwood resin. This is reflected in a rich flavour that isn’t ’rip your head off’ bitter, but has plenty of character in a sweetish, oily body. Yep. A beer that puts a wry smile on my dial and reminds me why I love APA.
