Draft sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, berries and faint malts. The taste is toffee malts, berries and citrus. Medium bodied.

On tap at El Bait Shop.
Pours a hazy orange color with a big thick white head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is fruity with orange and grapefruit as the dominant players, some little bit of caramel sneaks in but works pretty well with the citrus rind characteristics of the overall aroma

The flavor is really quite bitter in a very enjoyable way. Overall the beer is really pretty dry but also quite hoppy and fruity. Plenty of grapefruit and a little woodiness show well together as key flavors.

The carbonation level carries the bitterness of the beer very well and I’d not have guessed this beer to be of 7% abv, no real alcohol is apparent in either the flavor of the mouthfeel of the beer.

It got to tasting very nasty after I started eating hot wings, but that’s not the beers fault at all.

A very interesting and enjoyable take on the American Pale Ale.

Barril. Deep golden colour, hazy, with a small off-white head. Aroma of fruity piney hops. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is fresh and fruity, piney, good hoppiness and a pleasant bitterness.

On tap at Iron Monkey, Jersey City NJ. Clean lines. Beer pours opaque brown - like the color of fresh apple cider. Not just hazy, mind you - totally mono-color brown. Good head retention. Attack is citrusy with some grapefruit overtones, body is think and mealy and wonderfully unfiltered - really neat experience. Finish is bitter at first and then clean - very interesting brew.

Slightly cloudy orange-copper, with a moderate off-white head with light lacing. Aroma of plum, pine, and caramel. Taste is malty with a touch of fruity sweetness and a moderate bitterness throughout. Medium bodied, somewhat smooth, and mildly dry. Solid pale ale.

Barleywine-ish liqueur aroma; toffee sugar malts. Mahogany wood hop. Really malt-heavy though. Touch of spicy orange rind. The apeparance is uber-cloudy amber orange, like the orange part of a Tequila Sunrise. Healthy finger of white head. Glorious. The flavor is sweet, sugary malts, with citrus (specifically, orange and grapefruit) hops, that offset the malts perfectly. The malts are English -- sugary, crystal-like malts. Sweet and molasses-y. Has a chewy feel; a total choker. Basically, it’s a low-gravity barleywine, which is fine with me. Absolutely outstanding.

Hazy orange with an off-white full head that lingers and leaves slight lacing. Spicy aroma -- with a homebrew like malty nose. Nice bitterness and a medium mouthfeel with the malt and hops making a chewy dinner. Good spice hops and bitterness lingers late on the palate. This just really tastes like a good, homebrewed Ale to me, which is a little weird in a Rogue product.

Draught at Mikkellerbar. Hazy amber with a medium dense orange head. Medium malty caramel aroma with minor notes of sweet fruity Peach. Mainly bitter flavor, nice and fresh, mild sweetness and a little harsh in the finish
