ChainGangGuy (3835) - Canton, USA - AUG 29, 2010
22 ounce bottle - Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a ever so slightly hazed, dark amber body with a moderately-sized, off-white head. Smell: Sweet-scented caramel atop toasted bread and biscuits stirred up nasally moist herbs and juicy grapefruit, peels and all. Taste: Upfront malt profile tasting of toasted sliced loaf bread brushed well with sweet caramel. In the far-off distance is just a teensy hint of roast. Just a hint, mind you. Hops present a spicy, grassy herbaceousness with a touch of white grapefruit and a growing, accumulating bitterness. As the bitterness flourishes on the tongue, it begins to drown out the initial maltiness. Anticipated Pacman yeastiness. Finishes fairly dry and bitter with a bit of the fruitiness enduring into the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly soft mouthfeel. Drinkability: I’ll politely golf clap a solid, if straightforward pale ale utilizing GYO ingredients. I will!

This is one hell of a good pale ale. Wish I had drank it sooner. Was attempting to share with some friends. So I got the whole bottle. It made me very happy this evening. Loved the malt profile. Just a bit of sweetness to go along with those yummy bountiful hops. Good damn beer. Rich but not heavy. Might buy more if I can find it.

This was bottle poured into a white wine glass. Appearance; Gorgeous deep, robust amber that obscures the glass, strong finger head with large bubbles, great "cloudy" effect when held to the light Smell; Tangy floral notes with a grassy undertone, almost lemon like. Second smell reveals bready characteristics, almost like white bread Taste; Beautiful, bold hop presence, mild malty backing. Tangerine, lemon, presence of sweet malt, pie crust, bread lingering in the back Mouthfeel; "Medium", heavier on the tongue than anywhere else in the mouth, rich feeling Overall; A delightful brew. It’s well balanced and fresh tasting while still coming on strong with the hopiness. I could take a bomber of this anywhere.

22 oz bottle. Pour a slightly hazy amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a partial film. The nose is citrusy and piney hops over a toasted and slightly sweet caramel malt body, all overlaying that signature Rogue Pacman year. The flavor is nicely bitter and prickly with citrusy hops up front, but the sweetness comes out pretty hard on the back end. There’s a bit of crystal malt like iced tea sweetness that I particularly don’t care for. The yeast doesn’t help either, seemingly enhancing the crystal malt notes. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. The bitterness lingers on quite a bit on the finish. Interesting beer, and a cool concept with the Grow Your Own theme, but pretty standard issue for a Rogue beer in terms of flavor.

Pours dark orange / amber with a smooth foamy head. Aroma is quite malty with notes of fresh hops, orange and fruits. Taste is full, malty and slightly sweet with notes of caramel, toffee and hops. Nice bitter and fruity finish. Quite strong for an APA

Bov (7354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 18, 2012
from Erzbierschof - hazy dark red-amber beer under a creamy long lasting beige foam; beautiful lacework; fairly hoppy aroma showing notes of cream, apricots and tea; moderate carbonation and a good malt backbone, gently sticky on the tongue and very tasty; long and solid bitterness which introduces a very hoppy fruity finish - fresh and very aromatic - appears more bitter than its announced 40 IBU

Draft. Pours copper with an off white head. Flowery aroma, with a hint of pine and light sweet malts. The flavor is well balanced, with lightly sweet and pale malts, flowery hops, and a hint of pine. Not bad.

Plesant tasting hops. Not too bitter and the seperate hop flavors are discernable. One fruity one herbal. Solid brew.

Very well crafted pale ale. Extremely fresh hop aromatics. Some fruity flavors as it enters. A mix of grapefruit and apricot on the mid palate before seamlessly to a fresh, clean, yet hoppy finish. Delicious!

Barreras (408) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - APR 28, 2012
Pours a orange copper color with aroma of hops, floral, and citrus. Taste is mildly hoppy, very subtle floral palate throughout. Finish is clean that leads to a refreshing aftertaste. Overall a decent ale.
