COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale.

The newest addition to the Chatoe Rogue series is Pumpkin Patch Ale, a beer made using fresh pumpkins grown in a patch that borders Rogue’s 42 acre hop yard. The pumpkins are picked, loaded into Rogue’s farm truck, driven immediately 77 miles to our brewery in Newport, quickly roasted, and pitched into the brew kettle to create a batch of Pumpkin Patch Ale.

This is the best pumpkin beer with raw pumpkin flavors that I have had. Raw flavors balance the light holiday spice flavors. Body is a little light for my liking but other than that, very balanced!

From the 750 ml. bottle The pour is a nice looking mahogany brown with a modest off-white head that settles down after a few minutes. The aroma brings out the expected pumpkin spices I would expect from the style with a toasted malty sweetness thrown in. The body is medium. The taste emphasizes the maltiness more than the pumpkin and spices which made it pretty good but a slight letdown from the aroma. I kind of liked it.

Pours a hazy deep copper with a moderate slow dissipation off white head. Aroma is ginger, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, and some malty sweetness. Flavour is ginger, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, mild bitterness, biscuits, toast, and sweet maltiness. Overall a good balance of malt, spice, and real, pumpkin.

Pours a clear dark room with a nice off white head and little lace. Aroma of sweet gingerbread, allspice, cinnamon but very desertish. Taste is ginger, cinnamon, biscuit, pumpkin, sweet malts and just very natural and we’ll balanced all around. Excellent pumpkin beer!

A nice caramel color body with an off white head that had mild retention. Aroma had a nice sweet malt presence upfront. Beer seemed to have more of a natural pumpkin aroma and flavor than most other pumpkin beers I have had. There were spice notes and sweetness. Pumpkins gave it a bitterness that was not over powering. Moderate palate. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

$11.29 Bomber Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. The big orange bottle pours a clear light brown with a beige frothy head. Smells of heavy pumpkin and light spice. Taste: tangy, malty pumpkin ale with a decent amount of spice. Not enough spice, IMO. Good, but not worth the price.

750ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with a nice pumpkin aroma. Taste is fresh with a noticeable but not overwhelming taste of pumpkins. If you like pumpkin ales make sure to try this one out. Highly recommended.

On tap @ Bent Elbow - taps a deep amber with a small rocky cap. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is herbaceous with REAL pumpkin notes over some floral hopping. Taste is of a very solid, medium bodied amber ale with caramel notes and creamy pumpkin melding with earthy-bittering hops - long finish with a hop kiss in the conclusion. An unpretentious pumpkin ale which does not assail the palate with an obnoxious pumkin pie spice overkill.
