Bottle from SL and wow, not a rebadge (thx, Robert!). Rating this as an amber ale. The appearance was full amber with a generous steady frothy head that laced the whole way down. The aroma was caramel, pine hops, earthy notes. The flavor was caramel, oranges, pine hops, earthy elements, spicey hops, some fruity malt character, toasted notes. Mouthfeel was quite full, definitely malt-biased, a touch of sticky. A full amber ale, hopped, but more malty than hoppy. Decent.

22oz bottle. Cloudy, copper / light brown. Tall foamy head. Aroma of honey and cereal. Flavor of barley, biscuit malt and some sea air cured wood. Flavor kinda reminds me of the Dead Guy Whiskey (without heat). Not the best of my Rogues, although the quality is there.

Compliments of doboy, (Thanks Ed), poured a hazy amber hue, decent white head of foam. Aroma evident of flowers, Scottish field grass. Flavour of a malt back bone IPA, bitter towards the end. Caramel and toffee swirls among the subtle pine resins. Tasty, sessionable brew.

Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt notes of cereal, roasted, nutty and caramel, light to moderate orange for the hops, dough for the yeast, with hints of date and honey or brown sugar sweetness. Head is small, fizzy/frothy, off-white with some slippery lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is muddy, medium red/brown. flavor starts moderately sweet and light to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. Damn good beer. Mabye not so true to style of an IPA because of the balance leaning toward the malt presence, but it’s both smooth and tasty.

Pours a nice amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is subtly hops with a nice quiet malt backbone. really well balanced. Flavor is similar with some very clean hop notes and a good malt support. Really clean smooth easy drinking beer with some nice "greeness" at the edges. Tasty.

Heavy flavored with a metallic, bubblegummy note. Heavy hoppy aroma with notes if nuts and birch.

10/29/12. On tap at Kickback’s. Hazy orange pour with a nice khaki head. There is some light caramel in the aroma with a bitter dose of pine and citrus. Nicely bitter, hoppy flavor again with citrus and pine. It dries the palate out for sure. Not bad, actually.

Sweet, fresh hop aroma. Hoppy and malty, but not too bold either way. Very drinkable.

Pours a hazed orange light amber color with a lingering off-white head. It’s a little dark here in Small Bar in central San Diego, so forgive the appearance description if it’s not entirely accurate. A lot of lacing around the edges of the glass appear as the beer is consumed. The bouquet is comprised of citrus and heavy cream. This flavor is difficult to describe. Sweet lemon esters. Everything blends well. The first few pulls yielded some harshness at the finish. I had some Stone PTSD. But, everything blended and got smoother as I worked my way through it. There might be some apricot in there. Midlle of the road. Maybe just a little north of that.

Sampled on 10/13/2012 at GABF. This India Pale Ale pours a slightly hazy medium yellow gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is herbal, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Nice carbonation. Nice lingering hop bitterness. All those Fresh hop flavors. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
