Slightly murky dark amber ale, with a small, delicate yet handsome light tan head. Aroma is of very fresh citrusy hops, manilly i get for some reason, broiled pink grapefruit with demerara sugar scents! Taste? very smooth, yet very hoppy.Great use of the malts to enhance the juicyness of the hop.Quite peppery near the end. Delicious and thick palate, coats the tongue and roof of the mouth..in a good way. Very drinkable stuff. I see I rated this much higher than others on here..i suppose sitting at the window overlooking the Pacific waves does that!

draught@Erzbierschof’s bar - quite clear red-orange beer with a solid quite chaotic pale beige foam; a fair hoppiness showing notes of herbs with red fruits in the background; a solid malt backbone and gently sticky; a light juicy sweetness soon overwhelmed by a robust herbal bitterness; very long herbal and gently fruity hoppy finish - pretty original

Palme (1437) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 13, 2012
On tap @ Mikkeller Bar. This is a cloudy almost glowing amber beer with a nice heavy lacing off-white head. It has a sweetish aroma with lots of tropical fruits, peach and hops. Nice enough. The mouthfeel is oily and it has a average carbonation level. Grassy and mild-hedge hoppy flavors here. It’s also on the border to sticky without being to sweet. Really grassy and almost pungent-bitter when it got some temperature. 06.01.2012

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph.
Pours light hazy red-amber with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has red apples, Belgian sugar, caramel, peach, kiwi and pineapple. High carbonation, dry but a bit hin mouthfeel. Flavour is elegantly bitter, piney, some apple, some resin. A bit sharp overall, though it has pleasantly balanced bitter resiny finish.

On tap. Opaque amber with a dense and lacing off-white head. Dusty, chalky aroma. Surprisingly light in body, extremely dry and again this strange note of dusty chalk. Bitter indeed but not in any aromatic way. Mediocre. 060112

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of off-white head that settles to some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel and cereal grains with citrus and spicy hops. Taste is light caramel sweetness with some citrusy hop bitterness and a bit of peppery finish. An enjoyable easy to drink IPA which would be ok to drink all night long.

glennmastrange (1637) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - DEC 8, 2011
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt notes of cereal, roasted, nutty and caramel, light to moderate orange for the hops, dough for the yeast, with hints of date and honey or brown sugar sweetness. Head is small, fizzy/frothy, off-white with some slippery lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is muddy, medium red/brown. flavor starts moderately sweet and light to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. Damn good beer. Mabye not so true to style of an IPA because of the balance leaning toward the malt presence, but it’s both smooth and tasty.
