3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerguy101 (4925) - Newark, USA - APR 22, 2008
This American Pale Ale pours a deep amber brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized fairly dense white foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy. Kind of a strange beer for an APA, the malt profile is way caramel and sweet and the floral hops are sort of left behind. There is a almost tropical flavor here, very different, and I am not sure I like it all that much. It kind of grows on you but it is kind of strange. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is a slight bitterness that linger a while.

I really like this brew. Was surprised by the overall flavor and texture of this brew. Pours deep brown with not too much head on it. Really well crafted brew, drinks with mild hops and quality malts. Great brew, a real surprise.

Tasting at Papsø’s Hazy amber color. Mild fruity hops aroma; is that my impression or are there some Chinese spices? Interesting. Caramel flavor, there are some residual sugars but it’s not too sweet, light chocolate flavor. Quite special.
