3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 carlb (77) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 13, 2013
Pours a beautiful, medium dark, hazy, mahogany-brown. Two inch, tan, creamy, persistent head forms. Restrained nose. Where are the aromatic hops? Medium-full body. Sweet malt, caramel, and toffee on the palate. Almost too sweet - would like some bitter contrast. Nice Belgian lace. Extended lingering with hints of whole-grain bread. It is a filling and thirst-quenching ale.

Bottle from Champagne’s. Hits the spot, better than I thought. Malty aroma. A good balance of malt complexity, not too sweet. Very good drinkability
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bagalagalaga (51) - Indiana, USA - FEB 15, 2013
The flavor is all sweet, sweet malts, but a bit watery. It is pretty good value for the price, but not one I’d seek out.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Onslow (926) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Pour from a 12oz bottle, 6 pack from Hardings. Medium amber brew with dense off white head. Aroma of brown sugar, over-ripe fruit, some hops. Taste is interesting and complex - brown sugar, molasses, toast, hints of chocolate, modest bitter in the finish that dries up most (but not all) of the sweetness. Complex, well crafted, and interesting - what’s not to like?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 johnnyoski (359) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - OCT 29, 2012
Bottle. Dark amber pour with a thin tan head that quickly disappears. Traces of sediment eventually settle to the bottom. Aroma is sweet fruit, caramel with toasted malt. Initial dry, malty flavor is balanced nicely by a sweet, ripe fruit finish. Has average carbonation despite its flat appearance and leans more towards medium bodied. Well worth a try.
