Our German style Alt, Lighthouse Amber, has a brilliant light amber hue. Its light tan head is thick, retaining, and laces the glass all the way down. Lighthouse Amber has a silky-smooth medium body. A Noble hop aroma up front finishes with a Carmel malt nose. Our old world brewing method brings out a light toasted-bread flavor you’ll want to savor again and again. It’s a mouthwatering and thirst quenching delight.

From bottle. Pours an almost clear reddish brown with a small light tan head and almost no lacing. Aroma is faint with hints of caramel and roasted malts. Taste is mild, sweet, gently hopped, caramel. Mouthfeel is light to medium, lightly carbonated. This beer is understated but very nice.

Dark ruby pour with very little head....little to no aroma, slight cereal smell....taste is the best thing about this beer. Nice malt and caramel taste......palate is light to medium bodied.....overall I would get this again but in the fall....has some Octoberfest qualities

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jeff. Dark, hazy copper with some lighter orange highlights at the top. A beige, yellow tinted head tops it off, no lacing is left behind. Aroma is sweet, dark, & nutty. Light grapes & prunes with a hefty dose of caramel malt underneath. Somewhat boring & one-dimensional. Taste is very malty & sweet. Caramel, toffee, & light cocoa powder with some toasted nuts & faint brown sugar. Light hopping mid-palate, mostly herbal & grassy but very mild compared to the malts. Slight raisin & plum aftertaste. An okay amber, but nothing to lose your head over.

Had on tap. Virtually no head, very clear dark amber. Intense caramel nose. Very sweet--extremely caramely with no balancing char or bitterness. Better with food.

Had it out of a bottle. Pours a brown hue with a thick yellow head the disappeared quickly. Has a sweet malt aroma with a tast that is hop, malt, bitter, with a watery finish.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden brown with a modest fine bubbled khaki head into this celebrator glass ; this one poured modest, with light lacing, and average retention. The nose is light nutty, grass, and bread here - its what you would more or less expect. What you don’t expect is a mild mannered, overly watery version of an alt that has elements of the style but does it in a boring/mild way. If the goal was a drinkable alt - I’m not really sure if this qualifies either

(From notes). Draft from MI beer and brat festival at Crystal Mt over Memorial Day Weekend. Pours amber. Aroma of caramel. Flavor is of caramel and some hoppy bitter. Would be a very nice beer if is wasn’t so watery. Still it is definitely drinkable.
