Good taste. If you dont like a strong beer you will like it. Fairly light to taste with a nice aftertaste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2013 Bottle: thanks, Jeff! Dark, hazy copper with some lighter orange highlights at the top. A beige, yellow tinted head tops it off, no lacing is left behind. Aroma is sweet, dark, & nutty. Light grapes & prunes with a hefty dose of caramel malt underneath. Somewhat boring & one-dimensional. Taste is very malty & sweet. Caramel, toffee, & light cocoa powder with some toasted nuts & faint brown sugar. Light hopping mid-palate, mostly herbal & grassy but very mild compared to the malts. Slight raisin & plum aftertaste. An okay amber, but nothing to lose your head over.

Had on tap. Virtually no head, very clear dark amber. Intense caramel nose. Very sweet--extremely caramely with no balancing char or bitterness. Better with food.

This is a fantastic alt. Really nutty and smooth with a great creamy body. I could drink this all night.

Had it out of a bottle. Pours a brown hue with a thick yellow head the disappeared quickly. Has a sweet malt aroma with a tast that is hop, malt, bitter, with a watery finish.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden brown with a modest fine bubbled khaki head into this celebrator glass ; this one poured modest, with light lacing, and average retention. The nose is light nutty, grass, and bread here - its what you would more or less expect. What you donít expect is a mild mannered, overly watery version of an alt that has elements of the style but does it in a boring/mild way. If the goal was a drinkable alt - Iím not really sure if this qualifies either

(From notes). Draft from MI beer and brat festival at Crystal Mt over Memorial Day Weekend. Pours amber. Aroma of caramel. Flavor is of caramel and some hoppy bitter. Would be a very nice beer if is wasnít so watery. Still it is definitely drinkable.

I had a couple of glasses as Gís in West Branch. It poured mid brown and had a nice thick frothy beige head. Thinner lacing. A malty aroma and this tasyed quite malty. Nice sweet fruit is pleasnt. Gentle hops are cotrus. Yeast is fairly big and brings biscuits. This is a nice beer for a place like Gís. It is very easy to drink with very little bitterness.

bottle. Amber with small head. Big bodied alt. I was expecting more of a generic amber, and this was a nice surprise.
