Bitter Bully is a very drinkable straw-coloured session beer with a big hop aroma and dry citrus finish. It is brewed using the best quality Maris Otter, Pale and wheat malts and hopped with a blend of American whole hops including Simcoe, Cascade and Amarillo.
Remember the old saying: You can’t beat a Bitter Bully.
Temporarily known as The Beer With No Name at our first Brewery Beer Festival we ran a competition for the beer to be named by our customers.
Bitter Bully is now available MOST of the time in cask and bottle form.

Bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy deep golden, small head. Light and crisp, elegant malty base in the bacground and lots of fresh, grassy-resiny hops that also have a touch of citrus fruit.

Cask gravity at Six Bells Woodchurch. Paleish gold lasting thin white head. Decent hop on this. Classic golden ale. Some citrus hop. Pretty tasty i would say. Decent hop sting.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Light haze on this gold beer. Residual suddy white head. Light dry palate. Very mild carbonation. Light dry marmalade orange. A little honey toned malt. Dry finish. Nice marmalade.

Bottle. Golden with a white foam. Aromas are apple with caramel and herbal notes. Yeasty with lemon and trace honey. Flavours are cereal and caramel with grassy, floral notes and a nutty, gentle hop finish. A decent lager-like brew.

It’s rare to get this much hoppy flavour from an IPA without having to really ramp up the alcohol. Leaves other IPAs, like Bengal Lancer, in the shade.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. A pale gold and delightfully effervescent session bitter with delicate hops - flowery, slightly soapy, and sometimes powdery, but mostly engaging and refreshing. This is a light and refreshing beer with great conditioning. Nice.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is floral and hopped, and the flavour is bitter with a toffee caramel feel. Overall a nice bitter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle conditioned at 4%. Pours a lovely golden colour with a clear thin head. Plenty of citrus especially orange in the aroma, the taste is also fruity with light malts and a dry bitter finish.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear, sparkling golden orange with a lasting one finger foamy-creamy white head with good retention & a fair lace. Lovely bright aromatic hop profile. Zippy lemon citrus and tangerine aromas with a pale malt & floral hop sweetness. Light to medium body, firm on the palate, medium dry carbonation. Finishes with a dry, floral, pithy lemon bitterness. Dryer & less juicy on the tongue but nicely hopped nevertheless. Good bitterness. Bit too much carbonation initially but settles nicely. Well conditioned.
