Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/5/08. Chestnut coloured with a reddish tinge and a slight, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma with a hint of caramel. Sweetish flavour, with plenty more fruit and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Not the best example of the style, but drinkable nonetheless.

Cask@Kittys, Helsinki. Nut brown/amber colou with some ruby niotes, small off-white foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild toasted notes as well as fruity and a bit nutty. Flavour is is much the same. More tasting like a bitter than a mild.

4 rich caramelly red, healthy loose
6 slightly appley taste, and sweetish caramalts, subtle undergrowthy bitterness.
4 apple retronasals. dry, barky finish, some caramel. late finish a touch burnt.
12 Quite simple, but refreshing weak session bitter, presumably reddened by caramel?
