COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - Winter. Also available bottle conditioned at 4.7%.
Totty Pot is a rich, dark porter with a deeply satisfying roasted malt character and subtle hop highlights. It is brewed using the best quality Maris Otter, wheat and dark malts and hopped with a blend of English whole hops.
Rich and comforting, a real ale alternative to other black stuff.
Totty Pot is Cheddar Ales’ Winter Special, although you’ll occasionally find it at other times of the year as well.

Bottle, pours black with a fast-settling head, aromas of burnt prunes and gunpowder. Dark dried fruit, cocoa, a little old leather and tobacco, treacle toffee, burnt-bitterness, very good.

Dark brown, tan lacing, chocolate aroma, dry roast character...in stout territory with herbal hops.

A promising burnt toasty roasty aroma Barbecue / chargrill? and pours a quickly diminishing tanned bubbly head. Black as the ace of clubs or thereabouts. Mmm! big nutty burnt flavours on the tongue with a big bubbly champagne-like mouthfeel. Complex enough and yet not too thick or so rich so that it could be drunk plenty without too much trouble, well balanced texture. A real pleasant surprise which I would recommend.

Totty Pot is an award winning dark porter style ale from Cheddar Ales. It has a coffee and roasted malts aroma which creates a chocolate and coffee flavour, its cream tan head lasts until the last drop has gone. A really nice beer not too strong or overpowering. The subtle caramel flavours follow after the beer has settle for a while. A great porter for any dark beer lover.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12. Dark mahogony brown with a creamy tan head. Nose comprises roast malts, toffee and a little smoke. Tastes of milk chocolate, light roast malt, toffee. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a smooth finish. Not a watery one as some 4% porters can be, so overall a decent drop.

Bottle. Near black with a beige head. Aromas are dark treacle with roast coffee and some oiliness. Dark chocolate with some nutty, smoky notes. Xmas pudding with some herbal aspects. Flavours are cola and chocolate with coffee and liquorice. Dusty, bittersweet cocoa powder with raisins. Plummy fruitiness on the finish. Good.

Cask conditioned at The Weighbridge, Alvechurch, Worcs. Very dark brown with cream head. Heady, fruity, blackcurrant notes, sweetish then a hint of liquorice for balance. Really pretty tasty and full. Very pleasant.
