Traditionally an English style, restrained and lightly hopped, modern craft brewers have tended to throw buckets and buckets of hops removing any form of detectable subtleties from the yeast and malt. We’ve pegged our hopping rate back somewhat, to produce a beer with balance and heightened drinkability.

TAP. Pours gold with small white head. Strange aroma, dirty hops.....? Mild malty taste up front, rolling into a oat/biscuit malt finish... Sourced cheeky monkey brewery

Draught @ The Cheeky Monkey, Margaret RIver.
Deep, amber orange and bright with minute bubbles and a soppy, soapy white crown. Nose consists of granola, fresh baked bread and toasted malts, maybe just a little rose garden in the distance. Quite spicy, grassy and herbal on the palate with a peaking bitterness and crisp, clean, floral swallow. Lasting, hoppy, citric aftertaste is quite sharp and drawing to the palate and piercing to the olfactories. Quite malty with good body showing plenty of toasted, biscuity grain. Balanced to a ’T’. Really nice stuff!

Has a doughiness aroma that is pleasant. It leads this rusty coloured beer into a malty taste. Slight citrus on the front of tongue. Little tang at the back. It's an old reliable. Good for Saturday afternoon but not one that stands from the pack. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber gold colour with a small white head, aromas of bready, doughy notes with a very minor tones of hops. In the tasting the hops are much more pronounced with caramel and biscuits mixed in as well. Easy drinking and pleasant, a good session beer.

330mL bottle. Pours golden with a small white head and a very light aroma. The aroma has hints of a doughiness + bready notes from the yeast and malt respectively, an ever so slight hint of perfume from the hops. The perfume is more prominent in the flavour with a slight sweet citrus note and some caramel/biscuit malt thrown into the mix. Well done.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2013 Old reliable. Nothing much else to say here. Just easy drinking and quaffable stuff. Very biscuity for a pale

Light gold pour, thin white head. Aroma was malt with a bit of piney hops. Taste was similar, predominantly malt up front but nice mild pine/resin bitterness on the finish. Nothing too complicated, easy drinking.

Tried at Cheeky Monkey, nothing too adventurous with this one I thought, probably as the name says, old reliable, made to be drinkable which it was.
