Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a beige head. Sweet roasted malt in the nose and a whiff of licorice. Thin and watery body, a little roast and cardboard, mashy too. A little malt bitterness actually. 010510

Common bottle in supermarkets in Portugal. Dark color with thin brownish head. Medium to high carbonation. Low bitterness and sweetness. Caramel, coffee aroma. Not as bad as it seems.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of cola and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry cardboard finish. The body is thin. Thanks yespr for sharing.

A Mes rate. Can at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. Full on sweet and corny. One of those ’why the hell do I bother?’scoops. Crap but sadly, I’ve had much worse.

Can at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Smells of pancakes. It’s not as bad as some people say. It’s not the worst low alcohol I’ve had. Malt/pancakes.

(Bottle, thanks oh6gdx) Pours dark brown. Sweet and wort like aroma with notes of sour hay, rotten grass and corn. Rather grainy. Heavy sweet flavour with notes of wort, sugar and grass. Lingering artificial sweetness with grainy notes. Hard mouthfeel. Light body. Uhhh.

Bottle from a Portuguese grocery. Dark ruby-brown with a small tan head - looks really nice, actually! Aroma of sweet wort - totally reminds me of my university days, when I lived downwind from a brewery - along with some canned fruit notes. Flavour is fairly dull, artificial tasting sweetness with some faint malt notes. I suppose if I was off booze and really wanted a dark beer, it would serve as a semi-reasonable facsimile, but when I’ve got lots of the real stuff on hand, why bother?
