Drinking this now, picked it up at a 7-11 just before the 2-5 ban on alcohol sales kicked in. Because it makes more sense to sell from 11-2 than 2-5, you see. Smells mainly of acetaldehyde with some grain alcohol, flavour is not too sweet, some bitterness even, not picking up any fusels. I expected this to be offensive, and it’s really not bad for what it is.

Clear, golden color with almost no bubbling and a fizzy white head. Aroma is wheel grassy malt and flavor is same plus bitterness plus alcohol. Just drink one... or better yet drink one Chang classic instead.

Cheers x-tra are a great way to start your night off. You pick them up at the 7-11 in Thailand on the way to meet your friends and they put you right in the mood. You can also use these to forget!! I drink one and then move onto something else because you get tired of the strong alcohol taste quickly but they do the trick. The cans are larger than 12oz and they cost slightly over a $1 about 36 baht, so a good deal for beer in Thailand. I have only seen them at 7-11 bar and restaurants dont usually carry Cheers brand.

A kick start to the heart this one seemed. 6.5%, big question mark! Felt tipsy after half a pint enjoyed from the balcony of the Kee Resort just off Bangla. Pours a typically radiant gold with little evident carbonation and an ill to form head. Over-boiled vegetables hit the nose first but this thankfully wanes to reveal a sweet and heated, malt sugar nose reminiscent of unfermented wort. There is a herbal spice to it; the spice seeming more fusel than hops but the hops are there. Oily, teethrattling sweet and residually lined it is on the palate. A Carlsberg Elephant or Skol lager of a beer as its one dimensional sweet malts dominate, and the alcohol packs a punch. Would be good to see some hops but it is straightline. Not refreshing which is what I want in a Thai beer. Weird! (50cL, filled on 21/04/12, Big 1 Super Market, Bangla Road, Phuket, Thailand)
