wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Sep 21, 2006 Poured dark amber with a creamy tan head. Good retention. Smells like molasses, caramel and toffee. I liked the currant in the taste along with the caramel and scotch. However it was not exciting. Same deal with the palate. The palate was a bit watery. I still liked it though. MullMan (1015), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Nov 17, 2005 on tap at the blind tiger nyc. light tan thick foamy head. cloudy nut brown golden color. aroma is soy, molassess, and some toffee malt too. strong carbonation, tea-like smoky malt flavor with some peaty earthiness and toffee malt. dryish finish. rickgordon (3060), Göteborg, Sweden May 4, 2005 Draught at Chelsea Piers.
Dark amber/redish. Roasty nose, not much else. Flavour is wonderful with pronounced notes of almond, licorice and malt in general. Very clean. But there were American hops as well, no? beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA Apr 23, 2005 Had this at Brewtopia. This is a good Scotch Ale. Toasty, and malty flavors. Finishes crisp, clean, and dry. hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 18, 2005 Draft at Spring Brewtopia 2005... Clear, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Malty aroma with lots of caramel and chocolate. The flavor is all about the malt, but is not overly sweet nor alcoholic. Full-bodied and oily with lively carbonation. Well made!
