Poured dark amber with a creamy tan head. Good retention. Smells like molasses, caramel and toffee. I liked the currant in the taste along with the caramel and scotch. However it was not exciting. Same deal with the palate. The palate was a bit watery. I still liked it though.

Draught at Chelsea Piers. Dark amber/redish. Roasty nose, not much else. Flavour is wonderful with pronounced notes of almond, licorice and malt in general. Very clean. But there were American hops as well, no?

Had this at Brewtopia. This is a good Scotch Ale. Toasty, and malty flavors. Finishes crisp, clean, and dry.

Draft at Spring Brewtopia 2005... Clear, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, beige head. Malty aroma with lots of caramel and chocolate. The flavor is all about the malt, but is not overly sweet nor alcoholic. Full-bodied and oily with lively carbonation. Well made!
