Tap at Barcade: Nice glowing amber pour with a dense off-white ring for head. Sweet boozy aroma with apparent honey, vanilla and very mild oak. Slick body, with mild buttery notes in the flavor. Lots of vanilla sweetness comes through, giving it a rum-like character, only letting a touch of the oak peek it’s head through. Too sweet in my opinion.

Aug 13, 2008 Tap @ Blind Tiger. I was about 8 blocks away for a birthday partt and figured I would walk over not knowing it was a Chelsea event. Poured a hazy amber with a good sized off-white head. The aroma is sweet and malty with light fruit and vanilla. The flavor is sweeter with brown sugar, vanilla and a little wood. Tingles the tongue with a prickly CO2. Warming alcohol but hidden on the tastw. Better than the plain imp mild. Maybe its the age or the barrel. Medium to full body.

Jun 2, 2008 Cask. Orange body with a thin head. Aroma is sweet and boozy. Some vanilla and sweet malt all over this one. I wasn’t a big fan of this BW.

May 30, 2008 Tap at Waterfront NYC. Poured a mahogany . Strong alcohol nose.Flavor of sweet candy. Light finish.
