On tap in Denver for GABF 2012. Pours a pure black color with a medium tan head. A big sweet nutty and roasted malt nose. The flavor was dominated by chalk, some roast, caramel, clear buttery flavors (I assume there is an issue with infection), light cocoa. Pretty good. Will rate again if I have a chance.

Dark blackish pour. Aroma of molasses, prunes, raisins, roast and dry cocoa powder. Flavor of prunes, raisins, dry malt powder, chocolate.

Pitch black colour with small tan head.
Roasted malt, ash, liquorice, some sweetness and mild hops in aroma.
Flavour is roasted malt, liquorice, malty sweetness, mild hoppy bitterness and mild sahti flavours too. Absolutely delicious. Balanced. Rich. More of this please.

On a nitro tap at Pony Bar. Pours a deep black with a large creamy tan head. Soft roast on the nose. Creamy and smooth, roast and chocolate. Sweet, chocolate and coffee. Roast. Creamy, smooth and very lovely. Gentle smoothness into big roast and chocolate.

Tap @ The Pony Bar, NYC. Huge tan head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are coffee, milk chocolate, roast malt, vanilla and hops. Nice and smooth.

On tap at Pony Bar. Beautiful black with creamy tan head. Roasty with slight earthiness: a mix of dirt and pine hops. The body is a bit odd: creamy but somewhat devoid of flavor. Mild but enjoyable.

On tap at the gingerman in NYC. had a gray lacey head and aroma was smokey and roast like of cocoa. very sweet taste and smokey aroma wasnt really present

On tap at The Ginger Man - Manhattan, NY. Plain and even roast aroma. Flavors are good, but this could use a little more snap and a little less sweetness for me. Not bad. I think if you’re into the sweeter edge of stoudts with the breadth of complexity that comes with that sweetness, than this is the stout for you. I found it a little harder to work through.

Clear dark brown to black color, dark brown head. Sweet, juniper, licorice taste. Roasted aftertaste, also coffee. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Sweet malty scent.
