Cask. At House of Brews. Deep brown / black with beige head. Aromas of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Palate is extremely smooth and balanced. Typical stout profile of roasted malt, hops, coffee, chocolate. But there is very little bitterness to it. The finish is complex and interesting. Sweet malt, mellow hops, and a touch of bright, mouthwatering, lemony acidity. Has that smoothness that only a cask conditioned brew can achieve.

Growler. Poured a jet black with a thin beige head. Nose is big roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Big rich and deep flavored beer. Not too sweet and nicely bittered with good coffee and chocolate notes. I have had many chelsea beers, and this is by far my favorite and one I consider their best. Really solid beer, and well done.

Tap at Blue Monk. Exceptional beer. Aromas of chocolate, and caramel. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and good length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, with short-lived head.

Poured black with a very creamy/silky tan head that was stable. Aroma has chocolate malts with some vanilla. Taste is very creamy with a decent amount of chocolate malts and vanilla. I hoped for a little more flavor, but it is slightly thin-bodied. Overall very drinkable and good.
