Draft at Barcade in Brooklyn. Pour is deep black with slight beige head. An awesome stout, very robust.. vanilla, smokey malts, just the right amount of burn from alcohol. Strong and delicious, maintains a high level of drinkablity and a velvety mouthfeel. One of the best Chelseas I’ve had.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a dark, brown-black with a thick, dark brown head. Nose is rich mocha. Flavor is light, burnt malts with coffee and chocolate notes. Smooth, mildly velvety mouthfeel. A pleasant, roasty aftertaste. Very solid stout.

11th October 2008. GABF. This more like it (after the Oatmeal Stout). Smooth and creamy. Lightly toasted malt. Nice stout.

On tap @ Sterling Place. Black, nice tan head with good lacing. Nose is roast, inky black malt, melanoidins, dark honey. Flavor is roasty with dark malts, a bit of fruit (plum, roasted cherries). Very nice, just wish it was 5% rather than 7+

Black body with light chocolate head. Moderate chocolate graininess in the nose followed by moderate wave of coffee and chocolate flavors. Mild grainy sour chocolate finish.

blipp (6326) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Draft. Pours near black with a tan head. The aroma has roasted malt, coffee, and just a hint of smoke. The flavor has roasted malt, a touch of coffee, dark chocolate and just a wisp of burnt malts. Quite good.

Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - JUL 27, 2009
Draft. Smooth and sweet, I really thought maybe this was an oatmeal stout. Some roasty, coffee flavors, but a good bit of chocolate fills in the flavor profile. Smells clean but husky/grainy. Lovely pour. Good beer, easily drinkable.

on tap at brewery. very dark brown, frothy brown head. sweet and roasty aroma, with some musty leatherness or something. very smooth balanced flavor, sweet but well-balanced with the roastyness. a bit grainy all over, but definitely good.
