smokey and acidy it is thick and satisfying. when it finally settles some there is a backround taste of malted barley with some herb, spice and burnt cocoa expression. powerful flavors of doom.

Had it on tap at the brewery. Solid stout - not my favourite style so not much more to say about it.

Overall Impression: Really a pretty solid stout, they has just tapped it 3 days before when I tried it, and I really enjoyed it.

hophead75 (2008) - Largo, Florida, USA - FEB 10, 2009
on tap at Chelsea. Listed as 7.9 % ABV Just about black in color with a tan head. Strong roasted barley, chocolate, coffee, licorice and light earth in the aroma. Taste is nice and roasty, moderate amount of chocolate, some molasses, light fruit and licorice. Medium to full body, could have been a bit fuller on the palate. Finishes dry and roasty. Good, drinkable stout that is slightly smaller than an imperial.

Draft. Roasted malts & coffees etc. Dark w/medium head. Pretty good for a chelsea beer which I usually dont like.

Growler from Whole Foods - Bowery. The aroma is of roasted coffee, and alcohol. The appearance is true to the style, a dark brown, with a tan head. The flavor is rosted coffee, chocolate, and an unexpected citrus hop flavor, unusual for this style. The finish has a roasty quality as well, but actually demonstrates this unexpected hoppyness even more. Very good stout.
