Growler sample shared by a local BA from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malts, dark chocolate, a splash of caramel sweetness is mild, good body and mouth feel, dry, roasted bitterness to the finish. Pretty solid.

(Old BA rate - cask) Dense, dark black color and poured with a really decent light tan head that was a specific surprise given that this was cask offering. Roasty as hell for the style, which was quite nice as it cut some of the sweetness; dark, rich maltiness; touch smokey in the aroma. Roasted maltiness way out front; tasty bitterness (not hoppy); light chocolate sweetness. Thicker MF overall; very subtle carbonation (cask). Decent and tasty

Draft @ Coles, Buffalo. Chelsea can sure make great stouts. Deep dark pour. Dark tan head.Deep roasted malt aroma, hints of chocolate, cocoa. Flavor is dark roasted, almost burnt malts, chocolate, light hint of vanilla. Full thick mouthfeel. Another winnning stout from Chelsea

Enjoyed on-tap at Cole’s. Surprising bold flavours from this brewpub. Chocolate aromas, with a little coconut - as if barrel-aged. Above-average mouthfeel, creamy with chocolate, some lactate, like a latte but more on the thick chocolate side. Roasty. Like a nitro, but not, and some complex tasty stuff. A meal.

Tap, Cole’s. Body is black, tan head. Nose is delicious caramel, cocoa, roasty malt, honey & milky caramel. Flavor is cocoa, caramel, slightly tart/burnt, vanilla. A bit of tingy hop towards the finish. Lingering roast. You could tell me that this was a Bells beer & I’d believe you.

Growler sample from Ben. Poured black color with a minimal creamy brown head that mostly diminished with virtually no lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with solid drinkable beer.

Cask at Ginger Man, NYC
Black color. Dusty aroma of roasted malt. Medium body, dark chocolate flavor, caramel, residual sweetness, liquorice, a bit salty; lightly creamy. Good.

Cask ginger Man - nice look, great head - coffee and coca liquor aromas, taste some earthy mineral and dark berry fruit, hops are totally dry, I find this on the verge of being sweet. Very balanced with the light carbonation.

Cask. Pours near black with a tan head. Roasted malty aroma with some awesome creamy notes of french vanilla. The flavor brings more roast, with chocolate, lighter vanilla, and a hint of molasses.

Dark black with a small head. Aroma has a ton of coffee and roasted malts. Flavor has some sweetness but is dominated by coffee and dark bittersweet roasted malts.
