On tap. Odd beer. Crystal clear golden hue with a small white ring of foam. Aromas are of orange, tangerine, alcohol, estery and grainy. Flavors are of vanilla, grainy, butterscotch, floral and medium earthy notes. Alcohol. Marmalade, sweet. Strange off-flavor that I can’t quite pinpoint. Some bubblegum too. Thick bodied, warming.

This poured a hazy whitish yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots and lots of corn starch, fruit, and yeast. Flavor was very sweet but not malty, just tasted like a bunch of table sugar was dumped in the beer, some light begiany fruity notes and some yeasty banan notes too. Hard to get over the sweetness and the blandness of this one.

The aroma is cereal grains, wheat, caramel. The appearance is somewhat clear yellow, white head. The flavor is like a wheat ale, usually for the normally oversweet wheat wine style. The alcohol is undetectable. Thin/medium in body, a disapointment for this style. The finish is wheat, cereal grainy, no real hops (!?!). Not great, but I didn’t vomit.

Murky blond pour. Not too familiar with Barley Wines, this one at least seems similar to a Saison.

DruncanVeasey (5146) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2012
Plastic cup at the brewery, 17/12/11- this version 8.4%. Buttered sherry aroma. Raisiny, fizzy. Chew of dried fruits over a solid biscuity backdrop. Light lemon curd notes; almond, nougat. Honeyed with no esters or hops to lift it. Dull.

On tap at the Pony Bar, NYC. Bright pour, a gleaming light amber with moderate carbonation and nice sticky legs. Toasted coconut, mild citrus, and sweet toffee in the nose. Body was lively, with a slightly too sticky feel in places (a common enough feature for the style). Flavors were quite floral to start, and - after a sweet, malt-heavy center - led to a bitter finish. More complexity than in some wheatwines I’ve had and I found it pretty good.

On tap at Pony Bar. Pours a clear golden amber with a gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of sweet grains and caramel with a bit of an underlying toffee note. Flavor was similar with a good amount of caramel and toffee with a hint of backing light fruit.

Growler filled at Big Z and consumed later the same day. Poured a slightly hazed gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted though the first two sips and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, lightly sweet, with some fruity notes. The flavor is malt with a some mild wheat and again some fruit. No hint of the alcohol. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Solid.

Draft. Pours a crimson body with a white head and light retention. Nice fruity body with punch and fruit notes, a bit punch y with apricots apples and marmalade. Hints of pineapple and star-burst candies. Nice offering.

On tap at blind tiger from gravity system. not the prettiest pur and this is one brew that would have benefited from the carbonation of standard tap. but it tastes allright of wheat and figs and some earth.
