Aroma is moderate malty, caramel notes, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus - orange, resin. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (060808) TeamTrappist (207), jericho, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 On tap at the brewery.Poured a medium clear amber with a thin head. Mild grapefruit hop nose. The flavor was even milder than the nose with little up front, definitely on the thin side. It improved on the back end with a decent bitter finish that lasted. Typically lovely U.S. hoppage with well structured slightly sweet malt underneath. Thick, resinous and luscious. Massive fruity hop hit in the finish with just the right amount of sting. Nothing unusual but decent stuff all the same. cgarvieuk (2614), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 17, 2008 Cask, GBBF 08... amber ... juicy resins and pine hop nose ... sweet light hop nice malt back bone. maeib (4106), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Aug 14, 2008 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - GBBF 2008. A dark gold beer with a great piney hoppy aroma, with a crash of fruit too. Pretty hoopy in the mouth but there’s a hint of sourness and a lack of body. Perhaps over fruity.
