Tap at the Gingerman. The tap was disturbed and the brew looked like a coffee milkshake but great thanksgiving dessert aromas. Tastes of pumpkin pie including the crust really good. Also get nutmeg, brown sugar, earth, and vanilla but guess that’s more pie flavors. Good stuff

’Pumpkin Pie’, 7.1% according to my notes- presumably this. Tap at the brewery, 17/12/11. Hefe-like haze with a slim fine slick. Alluringly mulled aroma and taste lilke Anna’s swedish biscuits; cinnamon and ginger, finely sieved. No beery notes. Buttered corn on cob. Unashamedly spicy, and why not? Pick of a poor bunch.

Aroma: The nose is super cinnamony and sweet, an aroma of the season, with pumpkin pie spices
Appearance: This one pours into the glass an orangish color with a nice white head atop it
Flavor: The taste is unsurprisingly rather sweet and dessert like, balanced a touch by the spice hop
Palate: The body of this brew is fairly light, with a smooth mouthfeel and a really nice drinkability
Overall Impression:
This is a super sweet, but still rather tasty offering, in my opinion. Sure, it is kind of a novelty, but a novelty I enjoyed. I enjoyed it enough that I got 2 in a row, which is something I almost never do a place with the quantity of offerings of a Ginger Man. I’ll freely admit to being a sucker for this one.

Draft. Pours orange with a white head. Smells like pie crust and nutmeg. The flavor has pumpkin pie spices, nutmeg, and some sweetness. Good stuff.

Draft. Pours light orange. White head. Nose is great pie crust, fresh pumpkin pie and light spice. Taste is strong upfront and then drops out in the body, which is on the light side. Enjoyable sessionable pumpkin ale.

On tap. Interesting beer. Aromas of cinnamon, and citrus. Taste is sweet and sour, with average length. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Yellow, cloudy, with a frothy head.

On tap at brasserie julien on the upper east side. Pour is like a fluffy hefeweizen. Taste is lemon, squash, allspice, pumpkin. Would say more like yam then pumpkin. Light and fluffy like a wit. Really nice offering from Chelsea, not watery or boring like other brews I’ve had from them. Nice lacing.

Draft. Pours an orange copper body with a mostly white head. Nicely spiced, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and a hint of squash. Nice caramel and malty body with a spicy finish. Nice pumpkin ale.

On tap at Gingerman prior to going to Joe’s going away party. Pours a hazed almost milky hef looking color with a thin white head. Loads of cinnamon, light nutmeg, pie crust. Nice aromas overall. Thinner, no that’s not really right as it was more medium bodied, just emptier than expected. All of those lovely spices on nose and really nothing going on flavorwise. Somewhat bland, light spice on the finish.

draft @ Coles, Buffalo NY. Straw colored pour. Flavor & aroma are full of cinnamon, allspice & nutmeg. seems like a pumpkin wheat almost. ok
